Many couples have a hard time thinking of themes or activities for their engagement photo shoot. Most of the time, it’s because they never had to think about something like this before. The other option is simply… too much choice. Engagement photo themes are a dime-a-million, and it’s not uncommon to like two or five or ten, and consequently be unable to decide on a single one. What’s a couple to do?
First of all, it’s important to make sure that whatever you end up choosing from all the engagement photo themes, it represents you two as a couple. Vintage will never never go out of style, we are sure of that. This is probably because anything that’s 20 years or older is considered vintage, and that means it’s constantly changing. Just pick one era, don’t mix them up or you’ll end up with some very confused looks.
City couple
If you met in the city, send it a nod by having your engagement sesh there. It could be in the actual first-date pub, or at the cinema where you went a lot, or even where the proposal happened. Or, you know, by a big red fire truck for a cinematic effect.
A day at the fair
You needn’t bring anything but your good mood and a photographer willing to go on a few rides with you. The fair is probably the best prop you’ll ever have.
Outdoorsy with a touch of whimsy
Blankets and plaid not really your thing? Voila, here’s a different way to do an outdoorsy shoot. Bubbles, birds, balloons, interesting structures, anything that adds some texture or movement to the picture will take care of the whimsy.
Golden hour on the beach
Any photographer will tell you it’s the most flattering light of all, so take full advantage of it. You can’t go wrong, just mind the weather forecast for the day, and check when sunrise is scheduled. Bring a towel just in case you can’t resists the urge to run into the waves. Probably a dry pair of shoes is also a good idea.
