Before we start, a word of warning: we think you’ll want to be sitting down for this one lest ye swoon so fast you cause yourself an injury! When it comes to designers showing us the shape of things to come in modern bridal fashion, one need look no further than the vivacious Berta Bridal. Berta Bridal is just one of the new wave of bridal designers coming out of Israel that are taking the wedding world by storm (Inbal Dror, Gahlia Lahav, Zahavit Tshuba and Mira Zwellinger to name a few). Brides and bloggers are pining to even just touch one of their breathtaking creations, and their old world luxury inspired Fall 2015 collection cements them as one of the top bridal designers in the world today.
Designer to Watch: Berta Bridal
Every one of these ultra glam and uber feminine fit and flare gowns is a sensation, with beautiful, complex details such as pretty pearl drop shoulder embellishments, floral applique sleeves and boldly bejewelled bodices adding to the drama of the overall look for Fall 2015. The Berta signature is of course all over the gowns too, from their dangerously low v-necks and barely there backs to their stunning appliqués and opulent, epic embellishments.
Drama, romance and the powerful, confident female are the basis for the 2015 collection, with designers taking cues from an eclectic mix of cultures and eras. “The inspiration for this collection came from Greek mythology to old Hollywood, from the romance of Paris to the ethnicity of the Middle East and many more,” says Berta.
Each gown is a delicate balancing act, where daringly deep v-necks are offset with elegant long lace sleeves and a full, fairytale train counteracts a bold, lingerie-like low back bustier. The fact that every piece from Berta Bridal’s stunning 2015 collection manages to pull off such audacious silhouettes with elegance is a testament to the couture fit and fine fabrics used.
Unfortunately for most of us mere mortals, pining after these painfully beautiful creations may be as far as we get to Berta Bridal as not only are stockists few and far between at the moment (check out a list of them here) but Berta is not exactly the designer for the budget bride – in fact you’ve to contact the designer directly to get pricing details (eek). Still, doesn’t mean we can’t dream… Ahhh…
