How long before the wedding should I pick up the cake? – Sarah

This will really depend on the flavours you have picked for your cake. If you have chosen chocolate biscuit cake and or fruit cake, you will be able to collect your cake a week before the wedding. If your cake contains sponge tiers, you want to make sure that it is as fresh as possible for your guests. We recommend collecting or delivering the cake on the morning of the wedding so it is as fresh as possible. Your cake should taste as good as it looks on your big day!

Most top cake designers will offer you delivery and set up as part of their service. If you do wish to collect your own cake, we would recommend the morning of the day before your wedding for sponge style cakes and the earlier part of your wedding week for fruit cakes. Make sure you check with your cake designer for tips for storing your cake and transporting it to the venue.

At Timeless Cakes we prefer to deliver the cake to the venue on the day of your wedding to make sure it is as fresh and pristine as possible. But if you are not in a position to have your cake delivered, we would suggest you allocate someone from your wedding party to pick up the cake on the morning of the wedding and take it straight to the venue. The less travelling your cake needs to do the better. Good luck!
