Lucy and Michael first met when they bumped into each other in the street in Carnew. They’ve been together ever since and go engaged on Christmas Day 2024 when Michael popped the question!
“We got married in spring 2026. I picked sage green for the bridesmaids and wildflower colours for our florals. I DIYed a lot of things from the invites to the menus and mass booklets. I had great fun making everything, I love being creative. We had loads of silly props for the evening just to help people relax and have fun on the dance floor.”
Lucy wore a simple A-line Mikado skill gown, whilst her maids wore sage green and the guys cut a dash in navy suits. The beautiful flowers added a whimsical and delicate touch to the day, as well as lots of gorgeous colour.
“We had a lovely religious ceremony in our Catholic Church. Some of the songs we used were Take My Hand, Kiss Me, Last Request and we left the church to Imagine Dragons, On Top of the World.”
The stunning light filled rooms in Ashdown Park provided the perfect backdrop for family and formal photographs.
“Our photographer was Tomaz from Touch Photography, he was amazing. He made us all feel so at ease, as none of us like having our pictures taken, but we was amazing and the pictures are fantastic.
We used Amy as our content creator, she is amazing too! You don’t even know she is there and she got fantastic footage. I had it all the next day, so we got to see bits that we hadn’t noticed from the day, it was all a whirlwind.”
Feedback on the venue:
The Ashdown park Hotel is a lovely local hotel to us, they have amazing food and offer a great wedding package. The room rates are great too and the wedding coordinators Eimear and Claire were amazing, they made the whole process seamless from start to finish.
Lucy and Michael were keen to add lots of memorable entertainment into their day;
“We has All Talk wedding band, they were brilliant. They read the room and kept the dance floor packed all night! They had a dj and sax player too.
We used foam glow sticks and inflatable instruments during the evening, it helped everyone relax and have fun! We did shots as favours on the table for each guest and kids had a goodie bag with toys, colours, snacks, books and treats.
We had a Tayto sandwich station, a crisp wall and a sweet table and we planned table captains on each table. They had to complete silly tasks and send myself and Michael pictures of the table. We did a photo dash before dinner too so we have pictures of us with all the guests.”
Favourite memory:
Walking back up the aisle and seeing everyone happy for us.
Advice for other couples:
Just relax and take it all in, the day goes so fast make sure you enjoy every second.
