Flower girls are quickly becoming the new bridesmaids for 2012 weddings. Last year Kate Moss and Lily Allen both went all out when it came to their bridal parties, creating an adorable entourage of little fairies in wonderful white flower girl dresses and fresh flowers.
Flower Girl Dresses on the High Street – Monsoon 2012
Kate Moss’s wedding in 2011 brought us several new beautiful bridal trends to be on the lookout for, and some new and unusual trends for the groom too! While the obvious ‘WOW’ moment came from Kate’s divine John Galliano dress (and her inherent, radiant beauty of course -big shock there), a subsequent ‘wow’ moment came from her 14-strong entourage of pretty maids all dressed in white. Each gown had a certain boho feel to it, while still being youthful and cute, and fresh flower garlands on top of long, wispy hair finished off a beautiful fairy-like look.
Monsoon is doing a beautiful (if a little pricey!) range of alternative communion dresses this year, all of which would fit perfectly into a Kate Moss-style garden-fairy ensemble. It is certainly a range to be inspired by. Mix it up with different hems and alternate lace with chiffon for a light, airy feel and complete the look with handmade garlands from your wedding florist for a colourful, fresh summer look.

Flower Girl Dresses in Bridal Shops
Many people were fixated on a certain bridesmaid in April last year, however there was another pretty maid who stole the show from Kate and William’s balcony kiss and became an internet meme for weeks afterwards. The Royal Wedding flower girls were the envy of little princesses all over the world as they braved the attention in their adorable tea-length Nicki Macfarlane dresses (now stocked in Myrtle Ivory, Dublin!) and floral hair wreaths. This traditional look is the perfect style for a more uniformed wedding look, and dresses just as sweet can be found in bridal stores all over Ireland. Complete this cute outfit with a butterfly hairband, and a little flower girl basket filled with colourful silk petals.
