1. Astilbe (main image) is really fashionable at the moment for its soft vintage tones and lacy texture which ties in perfectly with vintage wedding themes and lace gowns. 2. Pick out the tone and shape you would like for your flowers instead of exact colours and flowers. Give your florist a swatch of fabric from the bridesmaids’ dresses and let them create a bouquet that uses the best of what’s available–they can even use off cuts to bind the stems.

Your florist will be buying your flowers in multiples of twenty or fifty stems, so if you opt for lots of different colours or varieties the costs will mount up quick. Have your florist design bouquets and buttonholes that have a harmonious theme and use up every stem!
5. Use summer grasses, foliage, and wildflowers to accent bouquets. Long, flowy posies are perfect for country weddings. Tie bouquets with raffia for a rustic garden effect.
