Mint is definitely one of the top wedding colours for 2014 weddings and we for one are collectively loving this fresh, modern and somewhat alternative shade of green! Emerald made a huge impact last year but this shift to pastels is certainly more in-keeping with the overall trend towards clean, chic and playful wedding themes. When it comes to mint – or, as Pantone declared it when they announced it as one of the top colours for spring 2014, ‘Hemlock’ – we are loving it paired with pretty pinks and elegant golds.
Whether you use a gold glitter or a metallic, gold will provide a beautiful contrast to mint. For your spring wedding, consider white table cloths with a mint runner sprinkled with gold confetti. Alternatively go for a sequinned gold runner with an array of mint and white vases with pink, white and green flowers as your centrepiece.
Mint-iced wedding cakes are a big cake trend this year, in particular with gold glitter cake toppers and ribbons as embellishments. It is also a fabulous shade for bridesmaid dresses, paired with cream or natural coloured shoes and gold jewellery.
