Minty Fresh! A Cool, Crisp Spring/Summer Palette

Décor & Flowers

Every bride and blogger is going gaga over pastel weddings this spring and surprisingly, we’re no different here at weddingsonline! The pastel wedding palette is one of the easiest to put together for an outdoor wedding – sprinkle some pale pinks, add a dash of baby blues, mix in a little mint and there you have it, a ‘theme’ that took almost no effort at all (okay, maybe it’s not that easy but when you see how much footwork your friend has to do to find the exact same shade of blue to match her table numbers, you’ll know what we mean). Now, pink is usually the anchor for a pastel palette and for good reason – it’s feminine, fun and found almost everywhere among wedding fashion and decor – but we’re backing a more modern subtle shade for 2015, just to mix it up a bit.

A Modern Mint Wedding Palette – How to

Mint weddings are popping up all over bridal blogs lately, and the colour is making its way into many wedding styles from chic city weddings to bohemian beach Big Days. However, although it might look it, mint isn’t all that simple to style – it can be a tricky shade for some skin tones and if you’re not careful will wash out your bridal party or reception decor. There are some good guidelines to styling mint such as keeping a white base throughout, using a metallic to pick it up and make it sparkle, and adding a complementary shade to give it an extra boost. Our fave combo for this is a spring-ready, floral-inspired blend of modern mint, pretty pink and of course, some glam pops of gold. Check out our palette below to see how it’s done.
