We met…  in the bank where I work. The following night we went on a first date to see Jason Byrne in Vicar St and the rest as they say is history!

Our proposal…  We had a surprise lunch for my Birthday on 7th March where I was flown by helicopter to Tankardstown House. I was so terrified in the helicopter, an engagement was the last thing on my mind! I was really taken by surprise when Fergal got down on bended knee after the lunch! He put a huge amount of effort into organising the day, I was very impressed. He forgot the birthday card, but I forgave him for that!

Our wedding theme/colour palette…  Thank god for websites like weddingsonline which gave me so many ideas. I had no particular theme in mind, I just wanted to keep things simple and create a fun and friendly atmosphere. My favourite colour is green so I had my heart set on the colour for bridesmaids’ dresses from the outset.

Our bridal party wore… Our bridesmaids wore clover green floor length dresses by Dessy and the flower girls (or as they were calling themselves ‘The Wedding Girls’!) wore ivory dresses from Monsoon.

Our ceremony… was held in St Patrick’s Church in Trim.  Fr. Mark gave a beautiful ceremony combining humour and sincerity.  He really made us feel at ease.  All our guests were very complimentary of him.

My dress…  Was by Paloma Blanca from Frilly Frocks in Drogheda. It was lace and silk with beaded sleeveless lace bodice and V-back.  It was so light and comfy!

His suit… He wore a grey morning suit with cream waistcoat and cravat from Bond Brothers in Goatstown.

We chose our photographer because… She’s simply the best!  I met Julie (Julie Cummins Photography) a few years back through a friend and she’s fantastic. Such a bubbly personality and so passionate about what she does. There was only ever going to be one photographer and that was Julie! All of our guests loved her. We are thrilled with our photos… they are so natural and we all look so relaxed… exactly what we wanted. Andrew from Eyecaptureweddings was also on hand to capture the whole day on video. He did an amazing job.

We chose our venue because…  We really wanted somewhere local and convenient for all our guests. Tattersalls was perfect for this reason. The house is located on its own private grounds and is stunning… You have it all to yourself to enjoy for the day. It has a lovely homely feel , like walking in your own front door!

We chose our wedding coordinator because…  I suppose Alison Harney at Chameleon Stationery and Keith Whelan at Tattersalls doubled as our wedding co-ordinator! Alison was great with ideas and was a tremendous help, as was Keith.

My favourite part of the wedding day…  Waking up to a glorious sunny morning and then walking up the aisle and seeing Fergal! He looked so handsome dressed up in his suit.  I also really loved after the ceremony driving through my hometown of Trim. Michael, our chauffeur had the roof down on the car and was beeping the horn. Everyone was waving and wishing us all the best! … I think Fergal was mortified! He’s a Kildare man.

Our honeymoon… We both had a lifelong dream of seeing Australia so we headed off to experience all the attractions of the East Cost of Oz, taking in Dubai and Thailand on the way over and Singapore on the way back.  Really fantastic trip!

My piece of advice for other brides…  Be as organised as you can so you can really relax and enjoy the run up to the big day. Take it all in as it goes by so fast!
