St Patrick's wedding

Meet Rebecca and Michael. Celebrating their wedding day over St Patrick’s weekend our couple chose a deep green colour scheme with accents of  rich burgundy flowers for a modern look.

Couple: Rebecca and Michael

Engagement length: Two years

Wedding date: 2026-03-14

Wedding venue: Kinsale Hotel and Spa

Wedding photographer: DRene Plunkett Photography

Rebecca and Michael met at college in MTU. After five years together Michael proposed during a romantic Christmas lunch, Rebecca was completely caught by surprise but was delighted and obviously said yes!

The couple set to planning their St Patrick’s weekend wedding with their loved ones in attendance at Kinsale Hotel and Spa. Rebecca chose a beautiful deep green theme with modern burgundy tones flowers to complement the day.

Rebecca wore a pearl beaded strapless wedding gown that glistened in the days sunshine. She chose sling back kitten heels for the ceremony and later changed to pearled runners.

Michael looked dapper in his faint check blazer and waistcoat, which paired nicely with a classic navy trouser, making him stand out but complement the groomsmen. He absolutely had his standout moment.

The bridesmaids all selected their own dresses, and the mix and match of the gorgeous green dresses allowed each of their personalities to shine through. The Maid of Honour even featured her white cowboy boots on the dance floor! The groomsmen were in matching maroon suits tailored. Each outfit elevated with a personalised pocket watch gifted from the groom.

“Having a civil ceremony completely tailored to us was always the goal. Patricia was absolutely amazing and really captured us throughout. Complete with a memory table, two readings from family, unity candle assisted by the father’s and a lovely handfasting with family and friends, the wonderful musicians made the flow perfect.”

Feedback on the photographer:

“What can I say about Dee, she arrived ahead of time and was like a breath of fresh air in the room. Everything was so simple and not rushed. We had a list of photos we wanted to get but Dee honestly went above and beyond with the pictures she captured. We even managed to get a trip to Charles Fort for some pictures which were truly magical. We barely noticed Dee in the room while she was working and are amazed by the moments she was able to capture. We can’t thank Dee enough!”

“We had hired Pat Fitz wedding band and what a show they put on! The floor was never empty. Our surprise entertainment for the night was a firework show, which surpassed our expectations.”

Favourite memory:

After 2 years of planning, for Rebecca it was the moment she got to the end of the aisle with her father and got to look at her soon to be husband in a room full of their nearest and dearest, still get chills thinking about how lucky we are.

For Michael, the fireworks summed it all up. Perfect day went out with a bang.
