Vintage Travel
“Our theme was a mixture of Vintage and Travel. We got greedy and wanted to pick the bits we liked from both these themes! Our colour scheme consisted of Coral and Turquoise.” It’s not the easiest task to mix themes, but Stephanie and Declan pulled it off like pros! We love the pretty coral floral centrepieces, simply popped into a mix of tumbler glasses, mason jars and larger vases and set on mirror bases. The couple sprinkled their tables with lots of cute travel-themed paraphernalia and brought it all together with colourful wedding menus. Perfection! Warm & Rustic
Nicola and Niall’s wedding at Hotel Doolin showcased the best of rustic styling for an intimate venue. “We didn’t really go with a specific theme – this baffled some wedding suppliers at the start!” said Nicola, “I guess it accidentally developed as a rustic spring theme as we both love spring colours and I was making my own bouquet from lavender.” Their wedding coordinator Donal at Hotel Doolin took the couple’s openness as a way to do something really special with their décor, and using pretty vintage items such as sparkling vintage style birdcages (which housed candles), rustic garden lanterns and wedding menus tied up with string, created a beautifully understated, rustic atmosphere, captured perfectly by DKPHOTO. On the day Nicola and Niall were more than happy that they left their styling in the hands of the experts saying “he absolutely blew us away with what he did with the place.”
Colourful Humour
How could you look at this photo of Anne-Sophie and Conor’s wedding table names and not smile?! We even let out a little chuckle seeing Dougle’s little clueless face staring back at us! The couple opted for a ‘”‘Garden’ theme with a Lavender and Rose colour palette,” and when it came to their tables, infused the classic palette with a bit of personality with their choice of table names, which comprised of their favourite TV programs including Fr Ted. The floral arrangements on each table were a burst of colour, contrasting perfectly with the white walls and tablecloths. A few sprigs of lilac acted as place settings, tied together with a name card. All we want to know now is which table their own priest was sitting at! Soft and Romantic
There’s nothing we didn’t swoon over when it came to Michael and Miriam’s incredible wedding at The K Club, which was captured magnificently by Michelle Prunty. The décor was perfectly in sync with the overall style of the wedding – pretty, romantic and timeless. “I always loved the soft pink colour palette,” said Miriam, “after our first consultation with Stephanie from The French Touch we decided on soft pinks, creams and whites. We then built on this when thinking of a colour for the bridesmaids dresses and the overall colour scheme.” Beautiful floral arrangements added colour to each table while a pink lollipop favour greeted guests as they sat down (if only we were greeted for all meals in the same way). The K Club stationery didn’t need to be tampered with and set a classic, elegant tone for the meal. Divine.
Sparkling Silver
For their wedding décor at the Glen of Atherlow, Louise and Liam used a mixture of centrepieces, including vintage white birdcages, tall antique silver candelabras and crystal hurricane vases, to bring a hint of contrast to the room. What really stands out to us is the beautiful silver Cheltenham Chairs, which could make any room look incredible! Musical
“We made CDs with a personalised playlist with home made covers as our favours and our centrepieces were large water jugs with summer flowers of similar colour in them and greenery.” This was Gina and Ed’s wedding at Brooklodge, captured beautifully by Brenda McGuire Photography, and it is overflowing with beautiful personal touches. Gina and Ed put everything into creating something truly special for their guests to enjoy and did it with meticulous attention to detail. There’s no way we’re not stealing their album cover table names for our next party, and we’re sure plenty of our readers will too!
Artistic
There’s nothing more we love to see than when a couple puts their own personality and talents to their wedding – especially when it produces such great images! Nicola and Alan’s Leixlip Manor nuptials, photographed by Emma Russell Photography, married the couple’s eye for style and their artistic flair together perfectly. “Our wedding was very personal and had different aspects of our personality as part of the theme,” said Nicola, “Alan sketched our wedding table names which were based on our favourite 80s cartoons.” Brilliant.
Perfect Powder Blue
When it comes to wedding table décor, sometimes less is more, especially when your wedding is in a building as breathtakingly beautiful as Thomas Prior Hall in Dublin. That’s why Criona and David’s wedding, shot by Michelle Prunty, completely works. “Our colour theme was a pale blue grey (‘wedgewood’) which actually turned out to be a difficult one to keep up theme-wise, it’s an unusual colour,” said the bride about her palette. The simple, elegant Wedgewood chair sashes are picked up with a hint of Wedgewood blue at the base of the centrepieces and in their DIY table numbers, which all tie each table together beautifully. The couple were advocates for DIY, bringing their skills together to infuse some really personal elements to their Big Day, in particular the stationery; “We both love a project, so we went on a bit of a make-and-do spree… We made our invites, I made table numbers from coloured paper and did the table centrepieces… Our apartment was a mess for months with bits of card and material and sticky tape everywhere!”
