Childminding Rates

Postby Sybil Fawlty » Fri Jul 23, 2010 7:08 pm

I know it's been posted time and time again but....

Firstly is there an 'official' rate of pay for childminders?
If so or if not what would be an acceptable/expected/reasonable rate of pay for a childminder in your own home 8am - 4pm? (One child)

Thanks for any info.

In your own home I'd expect to pay at least €50 per day. It's a full time job for someone who won't be able to do anything else/take on other children to make up money!

Hi there,

We pay €10 an hour for 5 hours a day 3 days a week (I work part time) so €150 per week. She comes to our house and also does some light cleaning and ironing as well. We are in South Dublin.
