DIY Balayage or Ombre hair? anyone try this?

Postby zig and zag » Thu Mar 07, 2013 12:45 pm

Kilronan Castle
Hi ladies, was in my hair dressers recently for my annual hair cut & she mentioned to me about getting Balayage or Ombre done.

I've never dyed my hair (I've dark brown hair) and would like a little change but the cost of it is 100euro in my hairdressers and can't afford that!!!

I've DIY my mil hair quite a bit & always turned out really well so I think I'm confident enough to do it myself at home but just wanted to hear has anyone else done it & what ye think?

I'm on my phone so not sure if I can post a picture of what those styles look like.

Thanks girls :)

I generally dye my own hair at home but not sure if I would do this myself although I am thinking about it!
I had a voucher for hair at Christmas and had the balayage done, I love it but there is a certain technique to it.
I am itching to try the new L'oreal Ombre kits but afraid of how it might turn out!!

Sorry, that's not much help at all! :-8

It looks lovely, but its very harsh on your hair.... The end of your hair is the driest/most brittle point, and you are technically just using the bleach at this point....

I know lots of girls who have had it done, one of whom is a hairdresser herself and she ended up having to have it cut off because of the damage over time....

Just think about it for long term
