Homemade Halloween Costumes

Postby Bazinga T McBinkers » Wed Oct 17, 2012 12:39 pm

I know I'm cutting it fine but I'm throwing a Halloween Party/Anniversary party next weekend. I have spent so much time organising everything for it, food, presents, music, decorations etc

Just looked at calendar and realised how close it is!

Need ideas for home made costume for it, no money to hire or buy a costume.

Help!

On the plus side, house will look spooky and lots of fun treats in store!

I saw a cool one a while back someone dressed as a jaeger bomb! Basically a military vest with empty mini jaeger bottles and red bull cans attached - it was pretty cool

Also saw another one a guy with read hair with a sliced pan attached with a string around the neck 'ginger-bread-man'

My boyfriend did that as well last year. This year I'm trying to persuade him to dress up as Beaker from the Muppets

A friend went as a sheep one year. She got a white shaggy toilet & bath mat set and sewed them together, worn over the head for your body , wore a black jumper and black leggings. Painted the tip of her nose black. Then made little sheep ears from a piece cut off the mat and black material and stuck them to a hairband. It probably sounds ridiculous but it looked great and only cost her about a tenner.

Oh, I like that sheep idea...that could be an option.

Oh don't mention Jager bombs! I have drank them on two nights. I can not remember those nights. Only the foul taste of Jager...

Heard of someone dressing up as a bunch of grapes before. Just attach a lot of same colour balloons to you. Perhaps not the best idea if you don't want to be the hostess with the mostest drinks etc knocked over.

you could do zombie anything. We're going as zombie hillbillys, checked shirt, denim shorts, cowboy boots, trucker hat and zombie make up, DH is wearing cut off vest, old jeans, trucker hat etc, cheap and cheerful!

As mentioned above, a zombie is a great option.

Zombie
Cut up some old clothes, add a splash of fake blood here and there, facepaint/makeup on face to create zombie look…

Also some other options:

Baby
PJ’s or one of those adult all in one baby grows (like the ones in pennys)
Pacifier
Teddy Bear

Cowgirl
Deinm skirt
Check blouse/shirt
Cowboy boots
Cowboy hat

Mummy
White clothes
Old white sheet (tear into strips) or White gauze or bandages can be used
Wrap yourself up
Add white facepaint for effect (black all in and around the eyes)

Schoolgirl
White blouse buttoned down
Plaid skirt
Knee Socks
Hair in pigtails
Bubblegum (optional)

You could also do the schoolgirl as a zombie – looks great

Hope some of those ideas help
