hello

i have had this done, as had my OH, sister and many friends!

to be honest, it is the best thing i have ever done (outside of getting married and awaiting this baby to arrive!!)

i was really blind and it is just amazing to get out of bed every day and not have to worry about trying to find your glasses, paying for new glasses, worrying about eyes drying out with contacts etc.

long story but i ended up in south london and my glasses ended up in north london and i had no spare contacts. my friend had to literally lead me through the streets of london to go and collect them.. it was so debilitating and scary. i couldn't see where i was going... nightmare. i came back from london that evening and rang and made an appointment to get it done the following day.

to be honest my eyes did deteriorate a little bit (i went for plus .5 to minus one) over the space of the first year but i went back and got a top up 4 years ago, a year after i got it done, and they are perfect since. the consultant said that it can happen sometimes.

HTH. let me know if you need any more info! :)

I personally know 4 people who have had it done, all 4 have had brilliant experiences with it and wish they had it years ago!

Go for it Ms!

I got this done and really recommend it also - you won't know yourself.

It really suited me as I wore my contact lenses a lot - and my eyes were beginning to dry out.

Hi just wondering if you went for consultation and how it went?

And also just wondering re the people who have had it done where did you have the procedure, what are the retrictions for getting it (dry eye? astigmatism?) and how much was it? Also is the recovery time long? Like how much time off work would you need for it and also how long is the waiting time for the procedure, like the time between consultation and procedure?

Think those should be enough questions for now!
Thanks!

Momster, you had perfect vision compared to me - -6 and -6.5, blind as a bleedin' bat!!!! :eek My friends friends eyesight was so bad, that she had to have different coloured shampoo and conditioner bottles, as she could tell the difference when in the shower!

I got the procedure done 7mths befor our wedding, I didn't want to wear the glasses on the day. I wore disposable contacts, but not often enough, and they could irritate at times - not good on your special day!! It was the best thing I've done, no more glasses steaming up when you go indoors from being outside in the cold, no fumbling around for the glasses during the night/morning - and I saved a fortune on contact lens solutions and replacing glasses.

Go for it, you won't regret it. I'm not sure on which health insurance company it is, but I know there's one where you can claim back on the procedure!! :)
