Looking for a luxury house for rent for Hen

Postby bubblegum » Thu Feb 24, 2011 10:41 pm

Hi there,

I stayed in Tranquility in Carlingord for my hen party last year and it was brilliant! The time has come for me to book my sisters hen for this year and I am looking for a similar house. Has anyone been anywhere like this? We live near Dublin and we are looking for somewhere within an hour and a half or 2 hours drive. Thanks a million in advance!!

What about Glaslough, Monaghan on the Castle Leslie estate? Haven't stayed myself but know the area quite well. Its a very quiet little village, but only 15 mins drive from Monaghan town. I know they're quite pricey to rent for the night but they do a sort of 'Girls Night In' package too.

Have a look at 'Old Stable Mews' or 'Village Cottages' for larger groups. Sounds like fun, enjoy :wv

We stayed her for new years (09/10) and it was amazing... Only thing i would say is it was a bit cold so maybe not for winter months.

Yep this is where i had my hen it was awesome!

Thanks for the replies girls, keep them coming. There will be about 15 people for the weekend so unfortunately the castle in Kilkenny is too small it looks brilliant though :)

Ok, another few of contenders, taking your numbers into account. Got these on daft.ie. Yes, I am very bored and am avoiding writing my wedding invitations :-8 Anyway, there are loads of short term lets on daft so have a look.

Walshes Lough, Wexford
Sleeps 17 and has a hot tub!

5 The Inch, Co. Kilkenny

Kiltealy, Blackstairs Mountains, Co. Wexford
Might be a couple of beds short, but its soo pretty, thatched roof and another hot tub!

Athboy, Co. Meath
Being advertised as a 'Boutique Hotel'. Reckon its individual apartments within one building, but sleeps 20. Might be worth a bit of investigation
