May 2015

Postby ruthiem » Sun Jan 05, 2014 9:13 pm

Hi, just wondering if there are any other May 2015 brides out there? I thought it'd be nice to have a thread where we could keep each other on the straight and narrow, discuss what we're doing and when, help make sure we haven't left anything out! :)

I'm just loving it! Should have been a wedding planner! :D
We've church, priest, venue, band, dj, photographer, church singer, rings, candles and cake all sorted. Not doing cars or videographer.
We're doing a lot ourselves so I've been busy making all the extra wee bits, we've also the stuff ready to make the invites and mass booklets closer to the time.
Booked my first dress appointment today for February...registering intent and meeting with a florist next weekend.
Hoping to meet with priest soon so we can get the pre marriage course done.

Wow well done! You are pretty organised.
I find it all very overwhelming! Do u want to plan mine too lol?!
We have church, priest, hotel, band and dj booked.
I've made enquiries with photographers and been looking at florist packages. Wasn't gonna go looking at dresses for another while. Maybe I should go soon though??
What stuff are you doing your selves

I'm just loving it all, so not getting too stressed and because of that, we're moving quite quickly!

Oh lots of things...the stationary, lots of tags for our water, lemonade, wine on the tables, having pics of our parents displayed, displaying our engagement photos along with love quotes and phrases, having cake and also our grannies signature bakes to include them, lighting a remembrance candle in the church, adding tags with "love is patient" "love is kind" etc to the pew ends, doing the centre pieces ourselves, doing an advice jar, diying some personalized candles, made tears of joy pockets, did bathroom baskets, flip flop baskets, table numbers, table plan, menus, I spy game, doing chalkboard signs for various places, bunting, pom poms etc....some much fun!

you have been busy ruthiem! fair play to you.
i am hoping to have everything as basic as i can because the thoughts of organising everything is stressing me out!
have you been looking at dresses? i was reading a thread on another website last night about getting one made from an online store, saves 100s but not sure if i would be comfortable doing that!

Haha, that's what most people say to me, but it's not stressing me just yet!

I'm going to a shop outside Belfast called Ivory and Pearl, it stocks all the designers that I've been looking at online.... hoping to find my dream dress there!
I'd be nervous about buying online, it's just too important!! (I'm currently Goodling to try and find the dress you posted!)

I wonder are we the only May 2015 brides? There must be more out there!

Imagine what it'll be like when we've just a year to go.... can't wait for that!
