thought i would start a post for all the fellow brides getting married in mayo 2013? are there many of you out there

how is the planning going? so far we have just the church booked and the hotel provisionally booked

Although I have nothing booked! What hotel did you go for? Am very confused by it all thinking now its too much hassle and we should just go away for it!

i know its all very confusing!! we only went to see 3 hotels - mulranny, knockranny and the castlecourt. mulranny was ruled out because we thought the function room looked really small for the numbers they said they could fit. and now we are between the other two dont have a notion which one to go for!!! we are going to see them both again on saturday. i think we are going towards the castlecourt but i have heard so many reports about people leaving the wedding to go down the town. i just think there is a nicer feel to it than knockranny. have you looked at any yet?

church and priest are booked so that is something i suppose!! we are starting to look at bands now and im finding that even more confusing my H2b is so easygoing he is leaving a lot of the final decisions to me but im so indecisive!!

when is your wedding - mine is in june.

Sorry about delay I dont log in very often! We have nothing booked or decided really. We arent pushed about doing it straight away and dont have the money for it either!

We have looked a loads of hotels but thats it. We seen Mulranny (loved it, got free lunch!), went into Castlecourt without appointment just to get a pricelist etc and had a peek in the dining room, I really liked it but would be wary of people disappearing downtown and not coming back! I personally dont like Knockranny, we didnt go to see it but I did go 2 years ago with my sister and just wasnt my style. Sister had hers in Breaffy and it was fab went really well. Food is amazing, couldnt have been better.

We also went to Pontoon Bridge and loved it. Diamond Coast & Oceans Sands in Enniscrone, really didnt like OS, DC is lovely inside but I wouldnt book as it looks like a factory outside! We also like Westport Woods. At the min we are between Pontoon & Westport Woods. Mulranny is a bit far too travel and is more expensive.

Hi Can I recommend the McWilliam in Claremorris. Got marrieed there last year and it was brilliant. Alan ( one of the managers) was extremely helpful in the planner and all the staff were amazing on the day.

Sorry dee only seeing this now. Yes we have Westport Woods booked, we nearly went for a hotel in Galway but Westport gave us a really good deal. Love the grounds of the hotel too

Have hotel, church, photo & band booked. Want to get video sorted and thats us done til we save a little more. Most of our savings are gone on deposits. Might order my dress soon as I have seen it online for a little over half price

How are you getting on?

London bride - i have gone with another florist called judi she is based in balla - the florist shop is called balla florists. i heard great things about judi clarke too. I was recommended judi from balla florists by heather fair who is decorating the church for me. seen her work in ballintubber before and its amazing


donna- i have all the main things booked trying to decide on a videographer at the minute - totally undecided between pan videos, complete weddings and avalon. also saw some by alis weddings. totally confused!!

complete wedding look amazing but are a bit dearer than the rest but quality looks really good. decisions decisions!!

im going the bridal show in the rds on sunday and also booked my first bridal appointment for saturday. going to white orchid in swords - so excited!!

Im also a 2013 bride, church is in mayo but hotel in Galway. Ive booked hotel, church, hotel, band - harlequin, church singer- nicola mcguire, florist - mayo wedding florists based in kiltimagh, thats it! Having hassle finding a videographer thats available on my date. its a bank holl but i thought id have loads of time! any recommendation or video or photographer?
