Mother-of-bride shops in Dublin

Postby Sally76 » Sun Feb 27, 2011 1:37 am

Hi all,

I was just wondering...apart from Arnotts, Clery's and Debenhams, could you ladies suggest other shops for the mother-of-the-bride in Dublin city centre, or maybe the southside/Dundrum?

Or even if you could recommend certain clothig ranges? My mum is in her 70s and she's a size 16, so she likes classic-style clothes, but not too fuddy-duddy as she's young at heart1

She's panicking a bit at this stage because she can't find anything she likes :eek

What about LK Bennett or Hobbs in Dundrum shopping centre?

Can't help in relation to Dublin i'm afraid, but we got my mums outfit yesterday in Lynches in Banagher.
Bit of a trip for you but the stuff is really gorgeous. The sizes are realistic and the service in there is magic. Basically personal shopping! Mum had a choice of about 5 outfits what were fab on her and the one that she went for is drop dead gorgeous. She is chuffed and I am over the moon to mark another thing off the list after only 1 shop!!! O:o)

Hi There!!

I know the one my Mum's planning on going to first is The Village Shop. It's on Main St in Raheny. She saw a nice few things on their website. The webpage is http://www.villageshopdublin.com

Hope that helps!!!! :wv

Thanks for your suggestions, ladies!

Would anyone have any ideas for the city centre or around Blackrock/Stillorgan, etc?

My Mam got her outfit in Richard Alan on Grafton Street, they were lovely to her, had very nice stuff and she had a ball!HTH :wv
Marge: Homer, is this how you pictured married life?
Homer: Yeah, pretty much, except we drove around in a van solving mysteries.

You could try Brown Thomas, my Mum got a fab outfit there from a brand called Phase Eight, not as expensive as you might think considering it's Brown Thomas.

For southside Dublin maybe try Marian Gale in Donnybrook village?

Lynch's of Banagher that someone else mentioned is definitely well worth a trip, as would be a trip out to Naas, there are about 6/7 boutiques in the town that are all very "mother of the bride".

+1 for there. Where I work I've heard loads about The Village Shop. Great for the ladies in the Autumn of their lives :)
