Really need some advice. My Fiance and I are getting married in June. We had originally been looking into getting married in Portugal in April but we thought it was working out expensive, especially for the guests. So we decided that we would get married at home instead. We booked a lovely local venue and started with the plans. However, I keep getting upset because I keep losing interest in the wedding. I keep thinking we should have gone abroad.

I never dreamed of my wedding or what it would be like until we got engaged and all i ever thought about was sunshine and sand. I just feel uninterested sometimes in the wedding we have here. Would be tempted to cancel and go abroad but I would be afraid that the guests may not be able to afford it at such short notice. any advice would be appreciated. Anyone ever cancelled and gone abroad or even reassure me that it doesn't matter where we are on the day.

The day will be amazing no matter where you are!!! You will be marrying the person you love. If you both think you are regretting having your day at home I'd suggest ringing around the people you really want there and just ask if they'd be able to make the day. If it turns out they cant your decision might be easier. If they say they will be there then fab sand and sun is an option!!! Good luck!

I suppose now is a good time to ask around as it's when most people start thinking about their summer holidays.

Would you be happy if only a few could make it and have a small wedding? Most people find that the that people you really want at your wedding will go if they possibly can.

I agree with OP, even if you have to stay put, you'll still have the best day, just put your own stamp on it.

Thanks for that girls. Sorry it's taken me so long to say it. We're only 10 weeks away now and I'm really excited. Now that it's getting so close I don't care where we are getting married, I'm finally marrying my Mr Right. Think I was having a bit of a breakdown back then xxx
