Prep for IVF#2 - recommendations for "fun" reading list

Postby sapphire02 » Thu Mar 01, 2012 8:59 pm

Cabra Castle Hotel
Hi Ladies,

Got the disappointing phone call on Tuesday that IVF#1 was negative.... :o(
Now throwing myself into preparation for IVF#2, planning is kind of my way of coping and makes me feel like I have some degree of control over this whole heart wrenching process.

In preparation for the hours that will be spent on the train to the clinic, in the clinic waiting room and the evenings on the couch once on meds - would you be able to recommend some light reading? Bought a book the other day (seemed like total chick-lit, perfect for me), turns out to be more like "The Notebook" as the guys wife of like 30 years is dying of cancer, I had to put it down at chapter 3, way too emotional right now to read that... Nearly ended up crying into my salad at lunch time today reading it.

Post kind of off topic (sorry), any recommendations would be great.
Thanks!!

Very sorry to hear that Sapphire but well done for planning the next step. How about Ross O'Carroll Kelly? always makes me laugh. Did you read the Help? Great book.

I was going to recommend The Help too - a great uplifting read. Triumph over adversity.

Sorry to hear about the IVF. Words cannot express how you must be feeling. Take care of you x

So sorry sapphire to hear things didn't work out for you and your DH, unfortunately I know how you are feeling as myself and my DH got the same result on Tuesday.

Not sure about reading material, I'm not great for reading, but great to see you planning for the next step.
