I know upandaway, only 24 days and we're going in 18 days :eek
Yep, tying up the last few bits and bobs now. had a mental week last week tbh, very stressful, trying to get so much done in between work too.
My dress should be ready to collect at the weekend now, very excited :o)ll
Had my hair and makeup trial at the weekend, happy out with both.
My headpiece should be in the post as we speak.
I have my h2b's pressie on the way also, got him a watch.
Our table names are in the post too, they are paintings of some of our favourite album covers.
I don't know how I'm going to fit evertything in tHe suitcase now :innocent:
Yeah upandaway, it's tough to know who to invite and not to.I was a bit like that too but ended up inviting a few people for peace sake.
As long as you close family and friends are there is the main thing..

Hi Ladies...i'm back :)

How's the plans going for everyone?

I know this is so cliche, but I have to tell you I had the time of my life!!! Me and Michael cannot stop talking about it, neither can our guests, I could cry every time i think about our 2 weeks there, but especially our wedding day.

I'm not going to lie, I woke up at 5.45am and very nearly had a panic attack, my poor sisters had to try and calm me down. Once the photographer arrived and my mum arrived, I was fine. We got ready in my hotel room in the Hotel Bristol - what a fabulous view - and had a glass or 2 of champagne to celebrate.

The cars arrived to take us to Positano and the rest of the guests had already been picked up from their hotels (the older guests) and a specified pick-up area (the younger guests).

The drive to Positano with my father was fantastic, we had such a great time together and he gave me 1 piece of advice which I didn't even really think about and which was the best advice all day: look around you in the church as you are walking up the aisle, look at all your guests and smile and enjoy every second.

I was actually a little early as I hate being late and the priest in santa Maria Assunta will warn you not to be late lol This meant I was able to stand at the doors of the church with my Dad and look in at everyone and smile and wave, remembering every guest.

The walk through Positano and back up again was magical, I have to say, and this was one of the parts I was most looking forward to.

Our cars took everyone back to Villa Antiche Mura and what can I say - people were blown away!!!
The staff treated us like we were movie stars, amazing view, amazing food, so professional and luxurious, people are still talking about it now. I'm so glad i didn't stay at home and do the usual hotel thing, it was unbelievable!!!!

My husband plays in a band and so has quite a few musical mates - we didn't have a band, so our friends sang 3 songs for us and Michael sang a song for me - all just with the accoustic guitar. We had all our music on our laptop and took that to play during the apperitif and dinner and then after the songs, we have it separated into different stages of the day and it was great! No cheesey DJ stuff, all our own great music.

After the reception, everyone headed into town to the "Irish" bar - those of you who know Sorrento, will know this place. I walked in after all my guests had already arrived, with the bottom of my dress slung over my shoulder and we went mental in there!!!! "Seamus" the owner ;) played the "here comes the bride" tune as I walked in and the whole place erupted and more dancing began :)

It was the best day of my life and the week before and after were just the best craic we've ever had all together.

Transport: http://www.eurolimo.it/en/ i can't recommend them enough, great prices, very professional, excellent english and loads of patience!

Reception: Villa Antiche Mura - unreal - worth every penny and the food is EXCELLENT!!

Church - Santa Maria Assunta - wow

hairdresser - recommended by Michele - i took a photo and she was fantastic, great English, very friendly

Florist - Super Fiori - just on the corner of the next little square off Piazza tasso if you are walking towards the cloisters and the elevator to the beaches. I just popped in when I was there and choose my flowers. My brother picked them up on the morning and they were gorgeous 140 euros for 3 bouquets, 7 button holes and 2 corsages.

Photographer: Francesco De Tito - very lovely him and his wife, arrived for 8am and didn't leave till after our friends had sang after the cake cutting and first dance. I'm waiting on my photos and I can't wait to see them!!!

Anything else you need to know, feel free. You are so lucky girls - you picked the right place in Sorrento and you won't regret it. We got engaged there 3 years ago, so our wedding was really special to us and I can't wait to go back there again :)

Welcome back Weekrusty!!
I have to say I was so dressed yesterday but when I read your post it made me smile, put me in great from for the rest of the day today, I'm still in good form :-)
So glad to hear everything went so well!
I'm especially happy to hear about the villa as we have the same venue .
We stayed in the Bristol before, it's gorgeous, some views!

We are planning in heading into the Irish bar later too if we have the energy.

Can I ask a few questions?

Did ye carry cash in the end to pay suppliers?

What time did ye have the meal at?

How did the cake turn out?

How was the weather? :)

Delighted to hear good reports on the hairdresser too, we have booked a lady through Michele aswell, she is doing a trial for me on the Monday beforehand. I was a bit worried that she wouldn't have much English but I'm guessing we will have the same lady.
You have to post some pics later!!

Can I ask a couple of questions??

What flowers did you have at the villa?
How many courses did you have?
Was it really really hot being outside? I'm so paranoid I'l be a sweaty mess on the day :(

Thanks :thnk

Hey ladies!

Can't believe the time had almost come!!
We fly out to Sorrento on Saturday morning, mental :ooh
Flying around getting the last few bits and bobs but I'm getting really excited now.
Was a ball for stress for the month of September but just excited at this stage now :o)ll
We've had a few little hiccups but nothing that can't be fixed.
Let's hope the sun shines on the day..or the Tain stayed away at the very least, I'll be happy with that!!
Will be back to report everything after the 20th girls :wv

Hi girls
I met with an iriah dj who lives in Italy the other day and he seemed lovely but I have no idea what price are in Sorrento. He quoted me 500 but came down to 400. Thats to play after the meal so hopefully from about 9 till 12. He has to travel 2hrs aswel so maybe thats to cover some travel costs too. Anyone have any other dj quotes?
Thanks girls O-O

Hey girls,

I'm back and married!!
We came back over a week ago but I can't bring myself to write our report just yet, what with family home from Oz and back working etc..just haven't had the time but i will when we get some photos back.
All I'll say is it was amazing, best decision we made was to go to Sorrento, we wouldn't change a thing, the Cloisters, the Villa Antiche Mura, our photographer ...apart from the rain on the day, 12 days there and the only wet day was our wedding day, typical. But it stayed dry for the ceremony which was the important part. We had to have our reception indoors which was a bit of a shame but the was great atmosphere and everything was perfect :)
We had 85 guests most of them the for 5-7 days, it was the best time of our lives and the best time of some of our guests lives too, they are still talking about it. Even my 75 year old very fussy set in his ways uncle loved it and said he'd go back to Sorrento :lvs
I'm jealous of anyone who has it all to look forward too, enjoy every minute including the planning and the weeks leading up, they're just as important!
Anyway, I'll do my report in the coming weeks, keep an eye out for it..
