I have just ordered mine so when I read your post I realised that I didn't know what to write. A quick google search brought up the above. According to wedding etiquette you are supposed to send them out a max of 6-8 weeks after received the gifts :oops: :oops: :oops: Ours will be going out 5 months after!

Good Grief!
Just opened the second link, and there is a poem to thank someone for helping them die! Seriously!

How about;

Reading through this
little verse will only take a minute
But it would take all day to count each "thank you" that is in it!

Thank You
for your wedding gift.

I prefer personal messages too. I know some people think that any card is better than nothing, but I feel people deserved to be thanked properly for their thought and consideration.

When I was looking for something to write in the cards, I came across this for cash gifts "Thank you for your *generous/thoughtful gift. We really appreciate it as we start our new life together".

*You can add words like "very" or "extremely" etc depending on how much they gave (which I find somewhat distasteful myself, so I used "extremely" a lot!)
