That's brilliant news - it's always great to hear positive birth stories !! The bath is such an underused labour tool - it obviously worked a treat for you.

The heat of the water deactivates labour pain by stimulating heat receptors which shut off the pain stimulus :-)

I think this thread should be moved to P&G, lots of ladies there could use this advice.

Someone also said how she visualised skiing during each contraction-skiing up a mountain as the pain escalated and skiing down as it faded away. I found this BRILLIANT!

Girls,

Your stories are fantastic i really want to give birth without interventions and your wonderful birth stories are an inspiration. It is really wonderful to read at last so many people affirming the positives of non epidural and other medical interventions.

Thank you

Thanks tracy for bumping!!

I've been wondering about labour for the past few days and what pain relief to have...i'm definitely going to try all of the above and hopefully not have an epidural. In fact i've just booked my yoga classes!!

Thanks for all those stories girls....much appreciated!

And yes, I think this thread would be appreciated in P&B!! :wv :wv

hi Piripiri,

This thread answered all my questions and took away all my fears. I had no choice-I couldn't have the epidural even if I wanted one. Now that I did it without it I know I could do it again any time.
