GETTING MARRIED IN POSITANO

GETTING MARRIED IN POSITANO

Postby RACH2 » Wed Jul 02, 2008 2:17 pm

Hi

I am new to the site and have been reading up on weddings in Italy.
Myself and my fiance would like to get married in Positano.
Can anyone recommend a good wedding planner that doesnt charge crazy fees ?

Thanks

Hi,

I am getting married next year in Maiori which is just down the road from Positano, we are using La Calla - Marianna and Laura are both really nice so far and they respond really quickly to any mails I send. We are going over there in 3 weeks to confirm everything. They only charge from 800-1000.

Hi Skinnymallinks,

Thanks for your recommendation. I had a quick browse of their website and they seem quite good.

Their fee seems quite reasonable compared to other planners i have emailed.
Can you advise if that fee is based on the number of guests or is €800-1000 a flat fee?

Also did you sign a contract with them?

Hi,

We are going over in two weeks to meet with them and view the venue, we have provisionally booked the venue and the church. They havent asked for us to sign anything or pay any money yet. I know another couple getting married there this August and they have not signed a contract or paid any money yet as far as I know. So far htey have been very throrough, giving me all the information I want and very quickly too. I had orignally planned to get married in Tuscany but when we went over there the wedding planners were looking for 2,500 and were avoiding me like the plague when I asked about prices for photographers/flowers/reception etc. The cost was blowing out of control. I am a lot happier now that I know exactly how much everything is going to cost.

Hi

After i got your email, i sent off an equiry to them. They got back straight away and have agreed to meet with us in September when we go over there.
I am curious though as to why they dont get their clients to sign a contract, as most wedding planners do, i suppose its just a safety net for either party if things dont go according to plan on the day.

Let me know how you get on when you meet up with them

HI,

I think they will get us to sign a contract when we go over there in two weeks. I know someone who has got married using them already and they had no issues

David and I chose Ravello Events www.ravelloevents.com as our wedding planners. We'd also been a bit worried about organising everything via the web and from so far away but Angela and Rosaria were always just an email away and replied to promptly and clearly to every question, that I simply can't fault them. The girls looked after absolutely every aspect of our wedding with incredible attention to detail, they created us a wedding day that we'll never forget and that our friends and families are still talking about now - and all for around € 700! Two of my friends have alreadly set their heart on Amalfi Coast weddings and are going to use the agency as they also plan weddings all over the Amalfi Coast and in Sorrento. I agree that for a painless, stress-free, amazing wedding you should give them a call, you won't be disappointed. xxx :lvs

we are using amalfinuptials.com they have only charged us 500euro. We are going to be around 50people getting married in Positano in september, so should be fun.

Will let you know what the final outcome is like, though they have been very efficient up until now and I got plenty of References before booking.

Hi

Havent been on line for ages to post replies
Thanks for the suggestions.
I have arranged to meet La Calla & Ravello Events when we go over to Italy in a few weeks.
Getting a bit frustrated though with the prices i am getting quoted for simple things like a bouquet ..€100! like hello, its that what it costs in Ireland i wonder, and to put flowers in the church the prices start at €400, and i wont even go on about the cost of a DJ..and this tax they add on.

Looks like i will be having a rather simple wedding judging by these prices!

RACH 2 weddings in Italy are not cheaper than in Ireland, my bouquet cost 250 EURO in Tuscany, we had some friends who got married this year in Massa Lubrense near Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast is very expensive for weddings, would you consider another area of Italy equally as beautiful?

I have been quoted 2500 (plus 400 for mayor to preform ceremony)for civil ceremony in positano with La calla planners
This is for v basic package (i think) as its only me and himself
-Bouquet & button hole flowers only
-Violin
-Photos
- paperwork

Is this an average price do you think?

Positano

Postby RACH2 » Tue Sep 09, 2008 3:19 pm

Hi

We actually decided not to meet La Calla in the end, but they are all charging the same prices.
We are going over at the weekend for 10 days of touring wedding venues in Ravello/Positano and Sorrento.

I actually decided to do a cost comparison between what you pay for flowers, music etc here v over in Italy and everything is the same price as here. Really the only difference is maybe the photographer is slightly
cheaper by a couple of hundred euro.

I reckon if you go and fall in love with a place you can work around it by cutting down on the numbers etc. Thats why we intend to do.
