Rathsallagh House - extra flowers?

Rathsallagh House - extra flowers?

Postby ginger76 » Wed Sep 12, 2007 5:32 pm

Hi girls,

I am getting married in Rathsallagh in 3 weeks and unfortunately have not been able to see the room done up for a wedding.

My family love flowers (plus my mother has had cancer in the last few months and my dad has also been unwell) - so I'd like the room to be as pretty as possible!! Am I being OTT?

Thanks,

Laura

Hi there,

I'm getting married in Rathsallagh a week after you!

We went down there recently to see the room set up, do menu's and decide on flowers - unfortunately the flowers hadn't yet been put out so we are none the wiser.....we are going to give them flowers that represent the colour scheme we have gone for....just not sure on what else we need to do...I was thinking of putting more candles on the tables?

Can i ask what church you're getting married in?

Getting very exciting now isn't it!

Firstly, congratulations! It's getting really close alright!

That's a shame that you couldn't see the room totally done up either. Our florist (not Rathsallagh) is arranging to put extra rose petals (pink and cream) on the tables and give them some extra for the table arrangements too. I get the impression Rathsallagh would be happy to do whatever you wanted re. candles - extra candles sound lovely actually. I just might have to ask for that myself!

We were down there for dinner recentlyand the room in the evening (even just set up for dinner) is lovely. We are having our meal around 5.30pm (sunset that day is 7.00pm -ish - see the link below) so there should be a lovely atmosphere for the speeches.

We are getting married in Dunlavin parish church - St. Nicholas of Myra. How about you?

Good luck on the day - we got married there last year. I'm not sure if you really need extra flowers, it's such a stunning location as it is - could you bring the flowers from the church and use them maybe?

Oh wow - well pointed out!! Fingers toes and everything else crossed that we both have good weather so we can actually enjoy the sunset - that would be fab.

Great idea about flower petals.....that will make the tables look really pretty - might have to copy that idea of yours! They are super nice to deal with down there aren't they - totally agree that you feel they'd do anything for you.

How great to be so close to Rathsallagh for your wedding. We're getting married in St Kevin's Glendalough so there is a wee bit of a journey but hopefully it will be nice weather so at least people can enjoy the drive across the mountains...

Really hope you have a very special day with your Mum and Dad and that they are well enough to savour every moment of it with you and your new hubby.
