AM OFF TO ROME ON THURSDAY

AM OFF TO ROME ON THURSDAY

Postby paulamc » Mon Jan 14, 2008 2:05 pm

Hi All

I am off to Rome this Thursday. I am meeting Sarita at the Quirinale on Thursday and just know I am going to forget to ask her something or other.

Does anyone know how these meetings usually pan out? i.e. ddo you get atour of the hotel, tasting etc?

Also is there anything specific I have to ask? I know every situation is different but am bound to forget something mega important.

I am also going to have a scout around the church - is it open all day?

Any other advic :o)ll e would be greatly appreciated - as if it wasn't for this site and all the lovely helpful people I never would have done it without everyone's help.

Hi ya,
We just asked to be shown the rooms and the garden. We chatted about questions that we had (I had these written out before we went) and what arrangements we wanted (like we want one big long table etc). We also booked in for dinner the next night.

hi there......

don't know if i will be much use as i haven't been over to rome yet...heading over in february so this is a great post coz im in the same boat....i know i will forget something...

im assuming that the hotel will take you around the rooms and the room where you will have your meal. and im sure if you had a meal in the hotel you would get a fair iddea of what the food will be like on your day.....

also make sure that the prices they are quoting u includes VAT or any hidden extras....you don't want to end up with a bill more than what u were expecting.....

another wee note about the hotels if you have any guests staying in family rooms with kids double check how many children they allow in the rooms...my dad is in travel business and said that some hotels only allow 2 adults and 2 children in the family rooms......

r u meeting up with your priest or just checking out the church alone???

think it would be a good idea to meet up with him because he will be able to give up loads of info and probably tell u wat u should be asking the hotels etc....

sori i know haven't been much use....but these are just a few things i thought of......need to start writing them down as they come to me so i won't forget :o0

it would be great if you could let me know who you decided to go with for hair, make-up, flowers etc when you've checked them out.....so i could maybe check them out when i go over in feb.....

hope you get sorted anyway and have a fab time...let me know how u get on

Hello,

I am off to Rome on Monday. Meeting with Barbara in Quirinale on Tuesday afternoon and then having a tasting at 7 that evening.

Also meeting with Fr. John in San Silvestro on the Wednesday. No other appointments made but my plan is to visit an Irish pub where I am hoping to bring everybody once the music in hotel stops at 12 - so want to check that out.

Also checking out accommodation for my guests. I am staying in an apartment booked on the rentalinrome website and myself and H2B have booked an apartment on the same site for September (a lot more luxurious than the one I am staying in next week!) so want to check out what they are like.

Also hoping to hear the band we have booked for Quirinale - Barbara is to let me know where they are playing. Want to visit some hairdressers and beauticians and also fit in a bit of sight-seeing as am going with my sister who has never been to Rome before!!

Have a brilliant time and let us know how you got on.
