One of our HIGM Facebook Group brides-to-be recently posted a pic of an awesome ‘Wedvent’ (wedding advent calendar) her bridesmaid put together for the lead up to her Big Day and there were so many fellow brides absolutely blown away by the idea and of course tagging their own maids and asking about it! We LOVE this sweet idea – we may be grown ups but we’re still obsessed with advent calendars come Christmas time (who could say to not to chocolate for brekkie?) and this wedding version is even more epic. Thoughtful maids put together these little pressie packs full of gifts for the 12 days leading up to the wedding to kick start the celebrations, get the excitement levels off the scale and completely spoil the bride-to-be.
So what goes in them you say? Well we’ve rounded up some lovely ideas that would work a treat! With wedding gúnas, hens and all the other expenses that come with weddings, we know funds might be tight and this can seem a tad extravagant but we suggest getting a gang of the girls together to go in on it and pick up some cute and cheap and cheerful pieces. If you all put in €10 instead of individual gifts, you can pick up some really lovely tokens the bride will treasure! Then it’s all about wrapping them, numbering them and popping them in a cute box or attaching them to a board so the bride can open a little pressie each of the 12 days before the wedding. What to Include
You can pick up lots of little bits like confetti, beauty treats – nail polish, nail files, eye treatments, face masks, lip balm, makeup – socks, a bridal eye mask, makeup bag, mini frame, disposable camera for surprise wedding morning snaps, hair accessories, candle (Yankee have some lovely wedding candles to suit all budgets from €2 up to €18) and then splash out on something big like PJS or a robe, slippers, lingerie (or some cute undies), a lovely bridal hanger or a ring dish or jewellery box. And pop in some foodie treats like her fave choccies or some mints or gum, some chamomile tea to keep her calm and mini champers or Prosecco for the wedding morning!
