We met… on the first day of a three year course we had both signed up to do. We both arrived at the wrong venue so we ended up going into the course late. I thought Steven was lovely but nearly fell off the chair when he told me he was a dairy farmer.
Our proposal… was in Sorrento in Italy. We stayed in a hilltop resort surrounded by beautiful lemon trees and he proposed under one of the trees. It was beautiful.
Our ceremony… took place in the local church in Zell am See. It was beautiful.
My hair and makeup… My bridesmaid Angela did myself and my mother’s hair and we got someone local to do the bridesmaids. Susan Ryan, a makeup artist from my home town in Wexford did my makeup.
We chose our venue because… We chose Austria as we wanted a winter wedding in a beautiful resort with good skiing. It was that and more. Our wedding co-ordinator recommended the castle Schloss Prielau and it was amazing. Such a beautiful venue and the food was stunning.
We chose our photographer because… we loved his portfolio. Klaus Bauer was a brilliant choice. I was thrilled with the end result and it didn’t feel like the whole day was spent taking photos.
We chose our wedding coordinator because… I liked her website initially.When we made contact for the first time, I knew Debora from Seventh Events would do a fabulous job and was such a lovely person to work with. We’re very grateful for all her hard work, she really did give us the best day of our lives.
Our wedding theme/colours… was ‘winter wonderland’ with my bridesmaids in a rich purple.
Our menu… we had a beautiful chestnut soup to start and a beef main course and wedding cake for dessert. All were just fabulous!
My favourite part of the wedding day… was the party afterwards. Our friends and family are such good fun, if was endless laughs. The band were fantastic also.
My piece of advice for other brides… Get a good wedding planner and photographer – you will have no worries and you can focus on enjoying the day. I’d highly recommend Deborah at Seventh Events. She’s fantastic and will give you the best day of your life! Enjoy your day and this special time with family and friends.
