10 Lovely Things to Do on Your Wedding Morning

Planning & Advice

It’s here, the day you’ve been counting down to, dreaming of and looking forward to ever since you got the ring on your finger! The wedding morning is such an exciting time – you’ve been building up to it for SO long so make sure to enjoy each and every special minute of it from cute snaps and celebratory toasts to some fun with the girls. Here are 10 things brides should defo make some time for on their wedding morning…

1. Have a lovely brekkie with your family

It’s going to be a long day so you’ll need lots of energy and what better way to kick start your day than with a lazy brekkie with your family. It can be lovely to sit back and soak up the excitement with your nearest and dearest and anticipate all the fun that lies ahead. It’s also going to be awhile before you get your hands on the canapés at the drinks reception so a bite to eat will set you up nicely for the day ahead. Your ceremony will also be taking place around lunch time and the last thing you need to be worrying about is your tummy rumbling during the Prayers of the Faithful!

2. Enjoy the pampering

You’ve planned this day to perfection for months on end and now it’s time to sit back and soak it all up. Enjoy having an amazing hair and make-up team fuss over you and getting glammed up to within an inch of your life. Make sure you look the part with some pretty robes and PJs – they make for great photos with the girls and of course, you want to feel your best with the photographer hanging about clicking away. 3. Jot down how you’re feeling

One of our real brides Nicola says of the best things she did on her wedding morning was to get up early and write a note to her hubby-to-be. “I got up early the morning of the wedding and took an hour to myself before the chaos began. I used that time to write cards to my parents, Chris and bridal party. If I had been better organised, I would have written the cards earlier that week but actually it was nice to capture how I was feeling that day, and to start the day telling those closest to me how much they mean to me.” If you’re really organised and want to relive your thoughts and feelings on this magical morning afterwards, this gorgeous idea is an absolute winner. Save a few moments to write a note to your partner or pop down how you’re feeling in your diary.

4. Toast your ladies

If there’s ever an excuse to pop the Champagne, it’s today! Make sure to save some time to really enjoy a glass of bubbly with your dearest ladies.

5. Have a quiet moment for the gift exchange

More and more couples are choosing to exchange a little gift in honour of the Big Day that they can open as they’re getting ready. If you’ve gone down this route yourself, make sure to take a couple of minutes to yourself so you can unwrap this special pressie from your other half and think about the reason it’s all happening – your partner.

6. Make some time for your parents

7. And have some fun with your girls

The morning will disappear but don’t waste time stressing over details. Pop on some of your favourite tunes and have some fun with your girls! Some music will have you and your maids in party mode and will really add to the getting ready atmosphere.
