With the special job of Maid of Honour or bridesmaid usually comes the exciting task of planning the hen party. Whether you’re looking forward to the task or would rather delegate to anyone who’ll take on the job, today we’re sharing a great way to kick off the planning with ten things to think about before you confirm any plans…

Brides preference: Hopefully your bride will be open to your suggestions but in return you need to be mindful of her preferences, especially when location comes into it. No week abroad bookings please if she want’s a simple night out in town!

Date: The earlier you set the date the better and the easier it will be for all guests to keep the date available for the special occasion.

Guest list: Again you should consult the bride to make sure you don’t forget anyone. We suggest setting up a group messaging system to keep all info in one place.

Cost: The cost per head needs to be affordable to all guest so make sure you discuss the cost with your bride and a few key guests to ensure it’s achievable for everyone. Once everyone is happy arrange a payment deadline and options to pay off over time.

Duration: This will come down to where you go and what the bride is happy with. Bear in mind guests with families to be cared for in their absence.

Location: The biggie – You can have lots of fun researching and choosing a location. Get your thinking cap on and have a good time working it all out.

Activities: You’ll have a fair idea of the vibe of the occasion, whether it’s chill out all the way or jam-packed with fun activities, spend plenty of time researching your options before taking the plunge.

Decor & outfits: The decor and outfits will be one of the last things to plan, if you’re having a dress code for the events share it on your group chat and enjoy the fun to come!

Dining: It’s a good idea to book your dining reservations ahead of time.

Definite no no’s: Whilst the hen is usually a surprise for the bride, for the sake of your friendship know the limitations! No booking a skydive if she’s petrified of heights!
