There were hairstyles to inspire every style of bride on this year’s runways – 2015 was all about ‘chic simplicity’ and this has followed suit for 2016, but more polished and structured styles have been thrown in to the mix as well.
There were plenty of romantic slow styles to swoon over from pretty tousled updos at Angel Sanchez and Carolina Herrera to beautiful beach-perfect waves at the likes of Jenny Packham and Temperley that will be a big hit with boho brides. Braids were another trend that will be going nowhere with Marchesa showcasing some stunning styles paired with beautiful, jewelled hair bands. Elegant, polished styles were all the rage this year as well with lots of designers including Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier, Marchesa and Badgley Mischka sending their models down the runway with sleek, polished updos that are sure to be popular with brides after a low-maintenance style.
Accessories also proved popular on the catwalk with everything from whimsical butterflies at Ines di Santo and floral hair clips at Angel Sanchez to crystal hair bands adorning many of the hairstyles at Monique Lhuillier and Marchesa. Beautiful accessories including bows and whimsical flowers gave a dreamy, feminine edge to more structured styles at Oscar de la Renta as well.
