Table runners are a great way of dressing up your tables and can really give your reception space that wow factor. There are so many fabrics you can play around with from soft and pretty chiffons to add a touch of romance to your tablescape to earthy burlaps and recycled coffee/potato sacks for a more rustic feel or sparkly sequins if you’re after some high octane glamour (Etsy has lots of lovely sequin table runners if you’re on the hunt for one of your own). Of course you can get crafty and indulge in a bit of DIY with runners made from paper, sew together some pretty ribbons or make a statement with some spray painted paper doilies if you fancy it!
If you’re looking to bring a personal touch to your tables, you could always stencil your initials at the end of your burlap sacks or pop some photographs in amongst a paper-made runner. And if you’re looking to really make an impact and create a cosy candlelit setting, a cluster of mason jars is an effective way to create a dramatic tablescape that won’t cost the earth.
