15 Creative Ways to Use Bottles in Your Wedding Decor

Décor & Flowers

If you’re after a cheap but chic way to decorate your wedding venue, get recycling your old wine (or glass) bottles. Wine bottles have multiple uses when it comes to your wedding décor and can be used for everything from displaying table numbers to holding flowers and candles and even as an alternative guest book. In terms of décor, we love the idea of popping candles in to a bunch of old bottles to create a cosy and romantic ambience. But they look just as gorgeous with flowers spilling out of them or as part of a centrepiece to tell guests which table is which.

And you don’t have to leave them as is if you’re not after that rustic look. Bottles can easily be sprayed in gold, silver or any other colour that suits your wedding palette to bring a pop of colour or glitz to your space, or you can coat them in chalk paint so you can doodle table numbers or other fun messages on them. Or if you’re looking to really personalise your bottles of vino to give your wedding that personal touch, you can buy personalised wine labels with your names and the wedding date on it over on WowWee who have lots of fab designs to choose from.

You don’t have to go discarding your corks either, there are plenty of crafty ways to put these guys to work as well. Use them as place cards holders, create wedding signs from them or they too could make an inspiring and alternative guest book – just get your guests to scribble a message on a cork and pop the collection in a frame after the Big Day so that you can display it at home as a beautiful keepsake. There are lots of sweet ways you can make bottles work as a guest book as well. Get your guests to fill old bottles with wedding wishes (just like a message in a bottle) and store them so that you can enjoy reading them several anniversaries down the line. Another cute idea is to get guests to jot down a message on the label of one of your favourite wines so that you can enjoy the sentiments and a toast on one of your wedding anniversaries. Or if you’re looking for a really thoughtful gift idea for a friend, do up some labels, buy a couple of bottles of their vino of choice and create a ‘Marriage Milestones’ kit, where the happy couple can break out a bottle to celebrate their series of first’s (first night as a married couple, first holiday, first anniversary) or other cute milestones you think they’ll enjoy toasting.
