Décor & Flowers

Some household items will make great decor props from tin cans for your getaway car to jam jars and wine bottles for your table centrepieces. Check out some items to start stocking up on now…

Tin Cans

Who’d have thought those tins of beans would come in handy? But they’re a great DIY material and can be used to decorate your getaway car and as a fun vase alternative for those after some quirky centrepieces.

Jam Jars

Mason jars are like a wedding staple these days. While you can buy them in stores, if you’re looking to save, just start washing out your sauce or jam jars instead. They’re perfect for pew ends, holding flowers for centrepieces (you can spray them if you’re after some glitz or colour) and are great for holding candles too.

Wine Bottles

If you like your vino, you’ll have an excuse to crack one open! Wine bottles are a lovely vase alternative – they look fab with flowers in them (or candles) and can be used as is, painted or covered in twine. They also make a great alternative guest book – use them to store guest messages you can open on anniversaries down the line.

Spirit Bottles

Same goes for spirit bottles – gin bottles in particular look super cute with flowers or candles in them. It’s also a nice way to add that personal touch if you’re a gin fan.

Wine Corks

Corks are another handy DIY material. Use them as place card holders or if you fancy a bit of a project, you can make table numbers out of them or use them to hold your table names.
