The end of 2017 is near so today we’re taking a look back at some celebs who tied the knot this year and brides who did it in serious style! Of course one of the most anticipated weddings of the year had to be Pippa Middleton and her beautiful Giles Deacon gown didn’t disappoint. And of course we followed our own celeb blogger Ciara Doherty’s wedding journey this past year too and were super excited to see what she chose to don for her special day. You can see her incredible gown and other stunning celebrity wedding dresses below…

We were bowled over by our very own Celeb Blogger Ciara Doherty’s bespoke wedding dress when she married fiancé Richard in August this year in their dream venue – La Garriga de Castelladral in the heart of Catelonia. Her incredible gown was handmade by Irish designer Orlaith Carroll of The Attic Bridalwear Boutique in Limerick. Ciara had shown Orlaith pictures of dresses that she loved and asked her to come up with a design just right for her. The result was a hand-beaded bespoke dress that required hours of slow, painstaking work but it sure paid off. Ciara said: “It sounds silly but I’d never worn anything so perfect for me”. Read all about Ciara’s stunning Spanish wedding here!

Pippa Middleton married fiancé James Matthews in May and her dress was a major talking point! Pippa looked like a classic beauty in a custom made Giles Deacon wedding dress. It featured a sweeping full skirt, beautiful cap sleeves and high neck and was reported to have cost in the region of £40K.

Actress Emmy Rossum married director and Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail in New York in May. She knew exactly who would design her special gown and put the plans in motion for a show-stopping Carolina Herrera number. The off-the-shoulder gown with a sweeping train (the bodice’s shape was meant to resemble the iconic Frank Lloyd Wright-designed museum where they tied the knot) was the epitome of modern elegance and we think the Shameless star looked incredible!

May was a busy month for weddings and also saw Australian model Miranda Kerr wed Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel. She looked incredible in a Custom Dior Haute Couture gown, designed by the brand’s artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri. The inspiration behind the long-sleeved, high-necked satin dress which was was appliquéd with lillies was Grace Kelly’s iconic style from her 1956 wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco. She completed her look with a showstopping pearl encrusted tiara designed by London-based milliner Stephen Jones.

Tennis star Serena Williams stunned at her November wedding to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. The pair said ‘I Do’ at New Orleans’ Contemporary Arts Center with their adorable daughter Alexia Junior by their side. Serena’s ball gown, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, had the wow factor in spades thanks to its voluminous skirt and according to Serena was “completely the opposite of what I ever thought I would choose for myself”. Serena told Vogue, she fell in love with the ball gown silhouette on a trip to London to meet Sarah: “I loved the idea of doing a really spectacular ball gown, and it has turned out to be such an incredibly special piece.”

Actress and UFC star Ronda Rousey tied the knot in August this year to fellow fighter Travis Browne. She described their Hawaiian wedding as a “backyard Mexican Corona party” to People Style and wanted a beachy but laid back gown to match. The bride opted for a gorgeous hand-beaded Galia Lahav mermaid gown and looked absolutely beautiful!

Charlotte Church

Welsh Singer Charlotte Church kept things low key for her wedding to musician Jonathan Powell in Cardiff in October. The pair had an intimate ceremony held under a tree with just their closest family and friends. Charlotte hasn’t revealed where she got her stunning ethereal gown with tulle embroidered skirt and off-the-shoulder detail but we adore it and think it goes perfectly with her fab floral crown.
