Leyla and Max met in school and have been together since the age of 16! They had been going to Moraira, Spain for 15 years and tried to visit at least once a year for ah holiday, so Max knew that this is where he wanted to propose.
“I absolutely love pastel colours and lilac in particular. I took all my own lilac material for the middle of the tables and had lots of lilac and white wisteria around, some shells on the tables – it was a ‘less is more’ for me but so effective and my vision was really brought to life in such an amazing venue.”
Max and the groomsmen wore gorgeous Navy suits with Navy shirts, no tie so very relaxed feel. Leyla’s dress was a lace back, tight fitted and gave the look of a fishtail too with a long train with lace detail at the bottom. The front was plain apart from lace straps.
The bridesmaids wore classic spaghetti strap dresses in lilac that were quite floaty at the bottom and figure hugging in the right places! They all loved the dresses.
“Our ceremony was non religious. We legally married in the UK a day before we flew to Spain and our wedding blessing took place the week after. It was a perfect ceremony full of love and lots of mention of the place we were, where we found love.”
“The wedding venue is out of this world, a restaurant with absolutely stunning location with the most wonderful owners. It’s in Benissa, Spain right on the sea. We knew as soon as we went to visit this was where we wanted our special day. Me and my dad arrived by boat for the ceremony, it looked absolutely stunning, better than I imagined and the food was incredible! Our guests are still talking about ‘the best wedding ever’ and how amazing the food was. We also had paella in the evening which was delicious! We had 2 singers during our day as well as a sax player which really got the party going during dinner! We then had a DJ in the evening who continued the party inside the restaurant. My husband then arranged surprise fireworks whilst my favourite song ‘Coldplay – Sky full of stars’ played in the background. It was a dream of mine to stand and watch fireworks with that song playing surrounded by our friends and family and we were told the fireworks were not possible but my husband arranged in secret!”
Layla’s favourite memory from the Big ay is the fireworks!
“Also me and my husband made sure we spent every second (apart from going for a wee! Haha) together as we wanted to ensure we had fun together and didn’t want to feel like we were pulled away talking for the whole day. We wanted to have fun with everyone together and really did just that.”
