A Beautiful Olive Green Wedding in Ireland

Articles, Real Weddings

Say hello to Ciara and Ben, who celebrated their love with a beautiful wedding at Moyvalley. We love the olive green, soft colours and neutral tones, and the personal touches they added to their Big Day.

Couple: Ciara & Ben Corcoran
Engagement length: 2 years
Wedding date: 2022-10-08
Wedding venue: Moyvalley Co. Kildare
Photographer: Eric Molimard Photography

Ciara and Ben met in Secondary School when they were 12 and started dating when they were 15. Their proposal story is really special:

“Myself, Ben and 10 of our friends took a trip to Claire. Our first night before dinner we decided to take a trip to the Cliffs of Moher. Little did I know they were all in on the surprise. A friend of ours is a budding photographer and asked us to stand and take a picture overlooking the cliffs and just like that when I turned around Ben was on one knee with the ring.”

Their beautiful wedding theme featured olive greens, soft colours and neutral tones.

Ciara wore a beautiful Enzoani off the shoulder dress from The White Room in Mullingar. Ben wore a black tux from Moss Bros.

To match the colour scheme, the bridesmaids wore olive green satin dresses. The groomsmen and page boys wore a black tux to match the groom.

Their wedding ceremony was short, sweet and very personal. They decided to get everyone outside of their wedding party involved as much as possible.

Moyvalley was the setting for their stunning wedding celebration!

“Moyvalley was a perfect location for us. They had a gorgeous old house called Balyna House where we had our drinks reception and later on that night that had an underground cellar where we had our late bar. The reception itself was set in the hotel, just a one minute walk away from the house. With Covid we hadn’t seen the room done up for a wedding so we were so happy and surprised when we walked in and saw it done up. It was absolutely gorgeous. We would not have changed a thing. Niamh and the staff at Moyvalley could not have done anymore for us.”

“Our photographer was Eric Molimard. Eric was so helpful from the start, He made everyone feel at ease. He was an absolute pleasure to have there and nothing was too big or small. He was also just such craic. We wanted relaxed fly on the wall pictures and he did that and then some. We were over the moon with the end result I would recommend him to anyone we’re so lucky we came across him.”

To entertain their guests, they had a band called “Party at the back”. They were an 80s/90s tribute band and they had the dance floor packed from the first dance until the last.

Their favourite memory of the day was the buzz of driving to the venue after the ceremony.

“It was the best feeling. We had a Volkswagen van as our wedding car and everyone beeping and waving as we were going up the motorway was gas and so exciting. We just loved looking at our friends having such a good time.”

Here is Ciara and Ben’s advice for other couples planning their Big Day:

“Enjoy every minute of the day, it really does fly by. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Try and take a few minutes for yourselves. The 20 minutes that we went off to get our pictures taken together was so lovely because it was probably our last time alone together for the day.”
