Lisa and Kevin couldn’t decide on a wedding theme, so instead of having one, they chose some of their favourite things. These included some of their favourite music, movies, beliefs and colours.

Lisa wore an off the shoulder white lace dress, and changed into a similar style dress in black. Kevin wore a burgundy suit with a black shirt and black paisley tie.

The bridesmaids wore forest green velvet dresses and the groomsmen wore black suits and shirts with green paisley ties.

“Our ceremony was tailored with our celebrant Medbh Boyle, who we created it with us over zoom as this was planned during lock down. It included lyrics from our favourite songs and passages from our favourite movies.”

Lisa and Kevin hosted their wedding ceremony and reception at The Keadeen Hotel.

“The Keadeen had 3 rooms for us; 1 for the ceremony, which was beautifully decorated. Another for the drinks reception, which included a drinks table offering whiskey and Gin as well as canapés. And the final room (the Garden room) was where we had our meals and the main event. We had given some instructions as to how we wanted the room laid out as we had made a lot of the items used during the wedding. The staff did not disappoint us, they went above and beyond what we expected.”

The wedding was beautifully captured by Emma May Photography.

“Emma May was amazing! We found her profile while searching online. What drew us in was she described herself as a wedding ninja, and she was right. You only noticed her if she wanted to be noticed, and when you did it was like talking to a friend you’ve known for years. She got some amazing photos on the day and never made us feel pressured or posed. It was all very natural and relaxing. We cannot recommend her enough to anyone looking for some amazing shots on their big day.”

To entertain their guests, they had Jenny Doyle sing during the ceremony and at the drinks reception. They then had Panic Animal as their band and DJ.

Instead of favours, they did something different as a nod to their mothers. They played bingo after the meal, which included giving out vouchers for the hotels and duds as prizes.

Lisa and Kevin share their favourite memories from the Big Day:

Kevin says, “For me it was watching Lisa be walked down the aisle by both of her parents.

For Lisa it was our first dance, as at that stage any stress from the day had passed and we could let our hair down and really enjoy the day.”

We love asking newlyweds for their best wedding planning advice. Here’s what they had to say:

“Make room for all the little things that show who you are. Work with your celebrant and the venue to incorporate these ideas into the day, as it’s your day for you. Try to enjoy the process. We travelled around the country looking at venues, we also spent a lot of time making all the items that showed who we are as individuals as well as all the similarities we share which made it such a unique and special day for us.”
