A Covid Wedding With a Music Theme

Articles, Real Weddings

Both Annette and Miceal are big fans of rock music, so their wedding had a music theme! Miceal designed the invitations to look like concert tickets, the table numbers were based on bands, and the band plates were small vinyl records.

Annette and Miceal met in school. They were in the same class throughout high school! While on holiday in Iceland, they went on a Northern Lights hunt. Miceal, who is a photographer, set up a camera so they could take some photos with the lights in the background. For one of the photos, Miceal was down on one knee!

Both Annette and Miceal are big fans of rock music, so their wedding had a music theme! Miceal designed the invitations to look like concert tickets, the table numbers were based on bands, and the band plates were small vinyl records. For their guestbook, they had a double guitar that guests could sign. On the walk down to the ceremony, Miceal had lined the walkway with polaroid pictures from their adventures and family photos. They chose blue and orange for their wedding colours. Annette began crocheting over lockdown so she made a rope for their handfasting.

Annette wore an ivory dress with a lot of beadwork. Her bouquet was centred on a sunflower, with wildflowers. Miceal wore a grey suit with an orange tie. His flower was orange with the Iron Man logo that lit up!

The bridesmaids wore petrol blue dresses with orange flowers. The groomsmen wore blue suits with grey waistcoats and white flowers. The flower girl had a flowery dress and a denim jacket that had cute patches on it.

“Our ceremony was beautiful and so personal. We had a harpist play. The celebrant told our story from we started dating in 2012 up until the wedding in 2020. We performed the handfasting, we exchanged rings and vows. We also told the celebrant 3 things we loved about each other and she told us what each other said at the ceremony. That was one of my favourite parts.”

“Station House is an old train station which has so much charm. The venue has beautiful gardens and an open courtyard that was perfect for all our guests to enjoy the glorious weather whilst we got photos taken. The room for the reception was wonderfully decorated and all the staff where fantastic! They made the day go so smoothly.”

Annette and Miceal chose Renata Dapsyte to capture their wedding day and they say she was amazing to work with!
“She managed to get all the natural photos. For the majority of the day, you did not even know you were getting your picture taken. For the posed photo Renata made them so much fun and we were so delighted with all the photos taken.”

To entertain their guests, Annette and Miceal had fire dancers after dinner. Then their band, The Vinyls, played! At one point, Miceal was up playing bass with them.

Annette found it hard to choose one highlight from the day. The energy and general positive vibes from everyone were so special! Miceal’s favourite memory is from whenever the girls dropped Annette.

“This is your day, enjoy it! Don’t stress about the little things and live in the moment. Personally, I got a new perfume and when I smell it I remember how amazing I felt on the big day.”
