We met… we both worked for the same telecoms company, I moved job to join the same department as Trevor, we got to know each other through work and then became great friends, it was a true case friendship blossoming into romance and the rest is history!
Our proposal… Trevor brought me for a walk up to Three Rock in the Dublin Mountains on a rainy Saturday morning in June. My favourite part of any movie is in Love Actually when the guy arrives on Kiera Knightley’s doorstep and tells her he loves her by using a series of large cards. When near the top of the mountain, we took a rest and he told me we were going to play a game where I was not allowed to speak for the next ten minutes. He then produced a set of large cards just like in the movie and with the last cards saying “Will you marry me?” It was fantastic and of course I said ‘Yes!
My dress… My dress was Pronovias from Kathy de Stafford. I knew I wanted something with a v neck, fitted on the waist and flowed to the ground. As it was a New Year’s wedding I really wanted a bit of glitz too. Rachael, the assistant in the shop brought over the dress and I loved it instantly, the way it looked and felt on. It was so comfortable and allowed me to enjoy the day and dance the night away.
Our wedding ceremony… was in the lovely St. Aidan’s Church in Butlersbridge, we had a traditional ceremony with beautiful classical music organised by my friend Katie O’Connor, who performed with singer Simon Morgan. We both really enjoyed the wedding mass, officiated by Fr. Alex Conlon, who knew both our families making it extra special.
Our wedding theme/colours… With New Year’s Eve as our wedding date, we used clocks and time as our theme for all invites and the tables. Our colours were navy and plum.
“We used clocks and time as our theme for all invites and the tables.”

Favourite part of the wedding… There are a couple of moments that stand out, I loved the church, when we both stood at the top of the aisle a friend had advised is to stop, take a moment and look back at everybody as they were all there for us, which we did and I will never forget that feeling. Also, when we entered the reception room we danced in to Snow Patrol “Just say yes” with everybody clapping to the music. It was brilliant and really signalled the start of the party.
Our first dance song… Bellx1 – Eve is the apple of my eye.
We chose our venue because… The Radisson Blu Farnham was the first venue we visited and straight away we loved it. It had everything we wanted classic but contemporary, beautiful location and perfect for our family and friends to relax and enjoy the celebrations.
My advice for other brides… Love every moment, take it in your own time and every so often take a little moment to stop with your new husband and remember this day is to celebrate you both. It’s the best!
