A Pretty Pink and Gold Wedding in Summer

“Our wedding was a spring/summer vibe with cherry blossom trees as stunning table centrepieces along with crystal candelabras. The room was coordinated beautifully in pink and gold. We got married on the most beautiful August summer day so the theme fitted in perfectly.”

Carly and Jamie met on Facebook. A mutual friend set it all up and Jamie added Carly. Jamie proposed in the Chinese Boudoir room in Carton House and it was probably one of the best weekends of their lives!

Carly wore a beautiful detailed beaded dress with diamond capped sleeves and a diamond veil.

The groomsmen wore black fitted suits with black shiny patent shoes and the bridesmaids wore beautiful long, elegant silver beaded dresses and silver strappy heeled sandals.

The ceremony had a very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of laughs and jokes throughout!

“Castleknock hotel was super. The venue was decorated beautifully, the canapés and welcome drinks were set up fabulous. We had our own bar for the reception before the dinner and because it was such a glorious summers day, we also had the back area opened out with tables set up outside for everyone. They had a red carpet and champagne waiting for us on arrival and they were very accommodating when we hired the singing chef to attend the wedding and made sure everything went to plan! They made us feel very special on our 1 year anniversary stay and it was lovely to see some of the staff remembered us. Such a nice personal touch. Very professional all round.”

“Our Photographer was Paul Duane and honestly I cannot recommend him enough. From start to finish he put us both at ease. He helped us run the day as smoothly as possible with all his tips. He got the most amazing pictures which we are so thankful for and honestly he was the best craic! We even managed to grab a selfie with him before he left. One of the nicest, most genuine people you could ever meet and super professional. His wife dealt with all my queries beforehand which was great and I formed a great friendship with both of them – they actually are the ‘dream team’.”

“Our videographer was Dan Devane. I chose Dan after he worked at my sister’s wedding the previous year and I loved her wedding DVD. He’s very laidback and you hardly notice he’s there which is exactly what we wanted. He did a great job capturing all our special moments throughout the day.”

For wedding favours, they did a little scratch card holder with a €1 all cash scratch card and a little chocolate coin inside. A bit of luck and a sweet treat for everyone.

“We have far too many memories to pick just one as the whole day was so magical. I really enjoyed the car ride from the church to the hotel as it was just me and Jamie taking 20 minutes out from the madness to reflect on what a fabulous day we were having. We also loved our entrance to the room before dinner as we felt amazing having all our family and friends there to celebrate our special day with us! The singing chef Eugene topped it all off after dinner as nobody was expecting it and everyone was up dancing and singing which was brilliant.”

“Enjoy the build up and don’t sweat the small stuff. Everything will work out in the end. Make sure to take at least 20-30 mins with your partner at some stage during the day to have a chat and relax! It’s such a busy day, you hardly get any downtime together. We found the car journey from the church to the hotel was really enjoyable as we could lap it all up and enjoy the champagne whilst chilling out for 20 mins!”
