How did you meet and get engaged?
We met as teenagers at a fundraiser and have been together ever since. We have a son together and he helped Gavin propose by wearing a T-shirt that said “Mummy will you marry daddy?”.

Describe your wedding:
Pastel colours was the colour theme and then we just had fun with everything. Our cake was half what I wanted and half what Gavin wanted (Marvel).

Tell us about your bridal look:
My dress was from Dinah Modes in Castlerea, the supertalented Pamela looked after me from day one to collection day! It was off the shoulder with lace sleeves and a train, I just loved it! My hair and makeup was done by The Hair and Makeup Fairies, they did a brilliant job. I went for a soft glam look with my makeup and a classical style with my hair.

What did your bridesmaids wear?
Bridesmaid dresses I got online. I was very to lucky to have bridesmaids with very similar body types so was so easy to shop for them! I just ordered all dresses a size bigger than what they would normally wear and then got the Zip Yard to do the alterations, they were gorgeous on them!

What was your ceremony like?
We wanted our ceremony to be personal to us. I put a lot of time and effort into choosing the right readings, and to my surprise a lot of people actually commented on how beautiful our readings/prayers were, so I was delighted. The decor we wanted simple and elegant and that’s what it was, it was beautiful.

Tell us about your wedding venue:
We had our reception in the Clayton Hotel Galway, and Karina and the team were fantastic. They looked after everything for us. There was no stress at all when it came to the venue because I knew how amazing the team were and we totally trusted them!

What is your favourite memory from your wedding day?
I couldn’t just pick one, the whole day was amazing!

Have you got any advice for other couples?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, honestly it really all does come together in the end, and make sure to take some time during the day to spend alone with your new spouse because the day really does go by so fast! I know a lot of people are on the fence about whether or not a videographer is worth it, I was also one of those people, and in the end decided to go for one, and I’m so so happy I did! It would’ve been a huge regret if I didn’t get one! There is so much from the day you don’t get to see, or you don’t notice but you get to see everything on the video and its fabulous! So get one!
