When I picture a destination wedding in Italy, I imagine sunny skies, a gorgeous wedding venue, unlimited cocktails and a pasta party. Well, that’s exactly what Sharon and Mite arranged for their Big Day and their guests loved it!

Sharon and Mite’s destination wedding in Italy didn’t have a specific thing. However, they chose to bring the festivities together with three colours for the day; white, pink and green.
Sharon’s dress was a homage to her family’s South American origins, with small flowers embroidered onto the bustier and a frill skirt. She also wore a beautiful hat adorned with small flowers and a green bow.
Mite chose a light brown suit, perfect for the setting!
They hosted a beautiful civil ceremony outside in the garden, with white chairs and wooden tables. The aisle was decorated with white and pink roses, pampas and eucalyptus. Look out for the ceremony backdrop; a gold circle with flowers! Keeping in theme, Mite’s chair had the same flowers and a green bow.
The team at Cascina Capitanio did a brilliant job of bringing Sharon and Mite’s decor and colours to life, with their venue as a beautiful and neutral backdrop. Cascina’s colours are natural, with lots of wood and brick red. They incorporated these rustic features into the decor but adding green runners to the tables and rattan under plates.
Sharon and Mite are big wine lovers, so they really leaned into this! A special touch that we love is the 18 litre wine bottle which served as a unique guest book for guests to sign! This is something very special that they were able to take home as a memory of their perfect day.
Something we love about Cascina Capitanio is that there are so many gorgeous spaces across the venue. Sharon and Mite really made the most of this and hosted different elements of the festivities in different spaces.
After their garden ceremony, they hosted a long aperitif with different dishes, made in the moment by the chefs. This included pizza, a fried station and the absolute gem; the Cheese Room!
The bar was where they spoiled their guests with Prosecco, Spritz and Beer.
Speaking of the chefs… the food was incredibly important in the festivities! Sharon and Mite chose a typical Italian menu, with Risotto and Pasta and a main course at the table.
In true Italian summer style, they were blessed with a sunny day! It got cloudy around the time of the cake cutting, but it never rained.
The team at Cascina Capitanio were prepared though – their porch has a beautiful view of the garden but it’s covered, so it makes for the perfect Plan B in case of rain.
The guests absolutely loved the post-ceremony aperitif, but they also had loads of fun during the party! Was it the music or the open bar with 40 different types of cocktails? It was probably all of it!
As if the guests weren’t spoiled enough, Sharon and Mite opted to do a Spaghetti party at midnight which was a huge surprise for everyone. The chefs made pasta in a big pan under the porch in front of all the guests. They had spaghetti with tomato sauce and burrata cheese, creating a really amazing atmosphere.
