A Wedding With 25 Guests All Dressed in Black Tie

Maria and Bill were originally due to get married in Easter 2020. However, with restrictions what they were at the time, they moved their date! Thankfully, the romantic theme they chose for the day was fitting for all seasons. They wanted everything to be soft and relaxed so they opted for a thistle colour for the girls and black tie for the guys. They decided to have all 25 of their guests in black and it looked beautiful. Everybody loved getting dressed up!

Maria and Bill met at Montessori school! On Maria’s 30th birthday, Bill asked her to marry him over afternoon tea in Powerscourt in Dublin.
“It was such a lovely day and really unexpected! He was just about to get down on one knee when a full bridal party walked in (Who we didn’t know!) He obviously didn’t want to be the guy who interrupted someone else’s big day! So he almost fell over, took out the ring and asked me awkwardly to be best friends forever! I don’t think we laughed as much but of course, I said yes! Then we went back to our home in Dublin where friends were there to celebrate with us! Bill never told anyone (Apart from my dad!) that he was going to ask me so it was a surprise for all!”

Maria’s beautiful wedding dress was from MK Bridal in Navan. Her Enzoani dress was the very first dress she tried on! It was a simple dress that they added lace to at the back and shoulders. She wore her hair down with a beautiful Hollywood wave and headpiece.

Bill got his Tux at Massimo Menswear on Dawson street. He went for a navy Tux with a black lapel and shiny black shoes. Because why not!

They opted for a black tie wedding and that definitely added to the excitement of the day! The bridesmaids wore elegant Sorella Vita dresses in a thistle colour and looked beautiful! The groomsmen wore navy tuxes with a black lapel and looked dapper.

“Ashley Park was just outstanding, from start to finish. All of the staff were so kind, helpful. We needed to change our venue last minute and we are so happy we changed to Ashley Park. The setting was something from a postcard. The rooms were so nice and the food was incredible!”

They chose Sean Sharpe to document their day and they say he was extremely professional and fun! They felt relaxed through the whole experience and laughed a lot.
“We feel like we have both made a friend in Sean and he really goes above and beyond to make the day extra fun!”

Maria and Bill say their favourite memory from the day is feeling so much love from everyone. They didn’t stop smiling the whole day!

“Don’t stress about the small stuff and keep it simple! Just be happy and grateful for the day that’s happening. It really is the most wonderful feeling. It doesn’t matter if there are 25 or 250, those who matter understand and are happy for you both! We changed our date so many times due to covid, so when we had our day it made us so much more grateful and happy to be there. All will be well, but most importantly, have fun!”
