How did you meet and get engaged?
We are both Professional Ballroom and Latin dancers which is how we came to meet! We were both searching for dance partners in May 2012 and we were both attending the biggest Ballroom and Latin dance competition in the world “Blackpool Dance Festival” located in the Winter Gardens in
Blackpool so Shannon contacted Sam to have a tryout and see if they were suitable to become dance partners!
Shannon being from Dublin, Ireland and Sam from Kent, England it meant it had to be special in order for the dancing partnership to work due to their home distance. Sam made the decision to move to Ireland to continue their dancing career and from there they fell in love. Spending every minute of every day together they both knew “it was meant to be”.
With Shannon having such a strong bond with her family Sam wanted to include them in their engagement so we got printed 4 tiny little T-shirts saying “ Will You Marry Me “ and asked her 3 Nephews and Baby Niece to wear them whilst he popped the question! With her whole family there Shannon was shocked, surprised and completely overwhelmed!
Describe your wedding
For our wedding we wanted clean, simple and sophisticated. We went for an all white wedding with
small hints of greenery. Our table plan featured a huge French Antique Mirror sitting on a hand made stand made by Shannon’s Dad. Shannon knew exactly how she wanted her wedding to look like, and she wasn’t going to stop until she got absolute perfection!
Tell us about your bridal look
For my bridal look I always knew I wanted my hair down and curly to create sleek Hollywood
glamour look! I’m not the kind of person to go El Natural so my make up had to be full glam with lots of bronzer, a small winged eyeliner, a natural pinky lipstick and full eyelashes!
The Dress!
Oh the dress! I can’t tell you how many dresses I tried on before I said yes to the dress. I
completely lost count.  We drove to Galway to a shop called Thistles, I tried on this stunning Princess style dress with a  sweetheart ruched bodice and a small diamanté belt, I fell in love but I didn’t want to say YES too  quickly! So I tried and tried and tried so many more dresses but found myself comparing them all to
that one dress in Thistles! It was a no brainer, that was my perfect dress!
I paired my dress with a pair of Sophia Webster Rose Gold Stilettos with single diamonte balls on
the heels.  I studied every single detail of my outfit to make sure everything was perfect!
What did your bridesmaids wear?
My bridesmaids wore a long navy blue chiffon dress with a ruched belt with draped pieces of fabric along the shoulders. They were all blonde and with us having an all white theme they fit in perfectly!
What was your ceremony like?
For our ceremony we went very traditional. When we first saw Galway Cathedral we absolutely fell in love with it straight away! Fr. Rabbitte lead our ceremony with such a funny, quirky sense of humour!
He had everyone laughing, crying and clapping! It was everything we could have imagined!
Tell us about your wedding venue:
The g Hotel. Let’s be honest we didn’t have to do anything to make this venue look any better! Its modern, funky style is us down to a T.
We loved the navy blue function room with the led lighting in the ceiling.  We went for a completely white theme with our chair overs and flower arrangements. We had gorgeous mirrored acrylic table numbers with tea light and pillar candles everywhere!
We decided on having the white led light up dance floor to finish off our white team and it was perfect!  For our reception we served prosecco and canapés along with a huge donut wall which everyone thoroughly enjoyed whilst listening to the sweet sounds of our fantastic Saxophone Player – Sax Appeal.
What is your favourite memory from your wedding day?
We both agree we don’t have one favourite stand out memory from our wedding day as the day was more than we could have imagined. From preparations to the final dance we felt so lucky to have had such a stress-free fantastic day with all of our friends and family around us.
Have you got any advice for other couples?
Remember your wedding day is about you and your loved one. No one else matters, you are there to
celebrate your love for one another and people honestly don’t even realise the silly small things that
go wrong or aren’t there. They are there to celebrate your new life with you both.
The most important thing is to take time aside from all the madness just to embrace what is actually
going on. The day is so busy you can easily forget to take 5 minutes with your new husband or wife
and just enjoy it!
