My dress… My  dress was from Pronovias, a romantic and beautiful dress in white organza.

Our ceremony… Our ceremony took place in a neogothic Church with a religious Protestant Ceremony celebrated by an English Pastor. We prepared some nice Church programs and we personalised the ceremony with  readings and our own vows. A friend performed two songs for us and changed the words of one song, rewriting it completely. It became a very personal and touching moment that made us cry with joy.

Our wedding theme/colours… Our colour palette was  a mix of elegant ivory with a touch of light pink and green. It was the perfect combination for a romantic summer wedding by the vineyards with an outdoor reception.

We chose Extraordinary Weddings Italy as our wedding coordinator because… We chose Barbara Gourdain from Extraordinary Weddings as our wedding coordinator because she was highly recommended as the best planner in the area by our hotel manager – and she really proved to be the best one! She was really professional, flexible, always answering our thousands of emails promptly and she gave us valuable inputs and ideas making sure every little detail was in place. We are really glad we could use her services for the planning and support, before and during the wedding weekend. Everything was brilliant and everyone was super happy! We had the most amazing day – she made it so special for us, it feels like a dream!

We chose our venue because… we fell in love with this amazing part of Italy. This amazing UNESCO World Heritage site candidate called Langhe offers charming venues set amongst rolling hills covered with vineyards.
It is surrounded by alpine mountains close to Turin, Milan and Montecarlo and features word-famous wine, exceptional food amid stunning and unique landscapes, and breath-taking scenery. Imagine a series of darling villages all nestled close together, only a few kilometres apart, all set amongst vineyard-clad hills as far as the eye can see.

Why we chose to get married in Italy… Many couples are attracted to well-known destinations such as Tuscany, Sorrento and Lake Garda,
but Italy has so much more to offer than just these three. Italy has some absolutely spectacular destinations which are a little off the beaten tourist track, but for this reason are excellent value for money. You won’t be compromising on scenery or quality of food, but you will discover a completely new face of Italy. I would recommend a ceremony in ‘the Langhe’ , a part of Piedmont, because this area of Italy is a treasure to discover and learn about! There are so many charming venues set amongst rolling hills covered with vineyards featuring world-famous wines and exceptional food with a stunning and unique backdrop.

My favourite part of the wedding day… It would take all day to write about what we loved about it, but the entire wedding weekend was amazing from the get-together dinner on Friday night with the wine tasting and the pizza cooked in a wood oven in front of all the guests, until the Saturday (the wedding day), a perfect bright summer day, when we lived a day that  exceeded every single one of our expectations and we pronounced the most important “I do” of our lives. We have to thank our planner for that. Honestly, it was a lot of hard work by all of us, but I feel like the vision we had for our wedding weekend and day was completely and fully realised. I would change nothing! Each guest was given a “welcome pack” which had a door tag for after the celebrations which stated “Please do not disturb – we’re recovering from Marius and Marthe’s wedding!”

My piece of advice for other brides… I would recommend contacting Extraordinary Weddings if you’re looking for a wedding coordinator. It was so much fun working with Barbara and I appreciated all of her guidance, help and support and recommendations along the way. Our wedding planner really loves her job and creating our dream wedding together with her was a wonderful experience – she delivered to us what was a fairy tale wedding that will remain in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
