I’m having an autumn wedding and want to go with a sort of ‘harvest’ theme. What are my options for bouquets? – Fayla

The autumnal palette is vast so you don’t have to just stick to flowers! You can introduce squash, lucky bamboo, physalis – these look like little Chinese lanterns. All sorts of dried seed heads can be incorporated into the scheme as well.

Autumn is a beautiful time of year to have a wedding. Here’s an example of an autumnal harvest bridal bouquet: garden roses, bunny tails (ornamental grass), variegated dogwood and a vintage style ribbon in rich golden hues. Another example: sunflowers, seed pods, oak leaves, hypericum berries and roses. A floral headdress would really suit your harvest theme, if you don’t want to wear one then consider it for your flower girls or bridesmaids.

Hi Fayla! Some ideas for harvest theme autumn bouquets would be to incorporate wheat and fruit within your bouquet. Mini pumpkins and crab apples are a very popular beautiful choice. In keeping with the natural theme you could finish with some natural hessian ribbon to wrap your bouquet stems. Let your imagination run – think of more than flowers alone.
