The Designer: Helen Cody

Country: Dublin, Ireland

Background: Helen Cody spent five years in London from 2008-2013 and returned to her home country of Ireland to launch her unique bridal collection. Helen has dressed a host of international celebs and fashionistas, from Cannes to the Oscars.

Style: Helen Cody specialises in intricate hand crafted pieces which use the finest French and Italian silks, organzas, cashmere and laces. Her style is ultra unique, contemporary and fantastical.

The Designer: Claire O’Connor

Country: Ireland

Background: Claire had a passion for fashion and design from a young age and won Young Designer of the Year award for her graduating collection. After several years cutting her teeth in the industry, she finally broke out with her own collections of couture and bridal.

Style: Claire O’Connor bridal has its emphasis on non-traditional, non-conformist styles with alternative silhouettes that make for a strong statement. These are gowns for an ultra confident, alternative bride who appreciates couture craftsmanship and genuine Irish design.

The Designer: House of Delphine

Country: Ireland

Background: House of Delphine has been on our radar for years now, with award-winning French couturier Delphine Grandjouan designing bridal and occasion wear for fashion-forward, bohemian brides from her Kerry studio since 2004. This year, her Dreams Collection adds a twist to her signature style, with striking asymmetric silhouettes and chic, sexy sheaths providing a more grown-up glamour for fearless, fashionable Irish brides.

Style: Delphine describes her brides as “professional women, with a strong educated taste and a love for pure design, top quality fabrics and a romantic inner-sense of vintage glamour.” She works closely with her brides from concenpt to design, creating unique and beautful pieces using the finest silk satins, crepes and French laces.

The Designer: Emma Manley

Country: Ireland

Background: Although only moving into bridal this year, young designer Emma Manley is already making waves in the Irish wedding industry after designing actress Aoibhín Garrihy’s stunning wedding dress for her summer wedding in 2016.

Style: Emma Manley is a designer of chic urban streetwear with an ‘edgy femininity’. Her designs play with unusual silhouettes which are tied down with expert tailoring and delicate embellishments, creating a contemporary, luxe feel. Emma is now offering her talents at creating bespoke, custom designed bridal gowns for brides looking for something truly unique for their Big Day (she is also currently designing her own gown which we’re sure will be magnificent).

British Bridal Designers

The Designer: Hermoine de Paula

Country: England

Background: After years spent working under designers such as Christian Dior Couture, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano, HdeP made her debut at London Fashion Week in 2009 with her own label. HdeP eventually grew to include multiple lifestyle categories and now focuses on bespoke bridal.

Style: “Luxury in a world of fast fashion” is HdeP’s mantra as they strive to create quality gowns that ensure environmental respect at every stage. A HdeP gown is romantic, flowing, natural, made for a free-spirited bride – ‘the exotic meets the English country Rose garden’.

The Designer: Savannah Miller

Country: England

Background: After working with Alexander McQueen and Matthew Williamson, Savannah went on to create the label ‘Twenty8Twelve’ with her sister Sienna Miller. Savannah collaborated with New York based bohemian bridal boutique, Stone Fox Bride and following the success of the collection is launching her eponymous bridal collection this fall globally.

Style: Known for her bohemian style, Savannah designs muted, chic gowns that make a big impact in their simplicity. These are gowns for no-fuss brides who want to look timeless and elegant, but with a boho edge that allows for a little extra in their accessories.

The Designer: Needle & Thread

Country: England

Background: Launched in 2013 with a capsule collection of dresses, Needle & Thread quickly garnered a massive following by fashionistas who loved their embellished lace and floral motif designs. Since coming to the bridal market in 2015 they have continued to cement their popularity, and are now stocked by online boutiques BHLDN and ASOS to name a few.
