Why we Chose our Venue – Irish Wedding Venue Reviews by Real Brides & Grooms

Anne-Sophie & Conor on why they chose Castle Leslie Estate

We wanted a location that could hold at least 125 people but had an emphasis on the outdoors. We found a lot of locations held the wedding in a ballroom without windows, but we specifically wanted a summer wedding where we could enjoy a view of the outdoors. We fell in love with the landscape and the heritage of Castle Leslie Estate as soon as we saw it. The wedding team at Castle Leslie were excellent and helped us through every stage of the preparations for the venue.”

Ailbhe & Andrew on why they chose Clonabreany House

“It ticked all the boxes for us! We were looking for somewhere that was a little bit different and when we found Clonabreany House, it had everything and more! There is a beautiful reception room and bar, a fabulous marquee, accommodation on site and nearby for our guests not to mention a Sibin bar for the late night session. We also had the privilege of having Clonabreany House for the whole weekend so we had a BBQ the next day with a traditional Irish band and a great sing-song – it was our home away from home for the weekend and nobody wanted to leave!”

Criona & David on why they chose Thomas Prior Hall

“We came across a photograph of Thomas Prior Hall in Bewley’s and thought it was perfect! It is a beautiful space, and the staff there were wonderful – Carene Lecaille was our co-ordinator and looked after everything, always calm and smiling and in control of every detail.”

Ciara & Shane on why they chose Rathsallagh House

“We had looked at a few venues before we went to visit Rathsallagh House but we both fell in love with it the minute we saw it. We loved the feel of a country house rather than a bigger hotel and as food was very important to us we were really impressed by the quality of their food. They were so professional all round and couldn’t do enough for us. We had the most fantastic weekend.”

Niamh & Peter on why they chose Ballymagarvey Village

“We had looked at numerous venues in and around Donegal and Dublin and Ballymagarvey Village was 19 on the list! We fell in love with the place as it was so picturesque and romantic plus gave us the option to have exclusive hire for the whole weekend which meant we could plan a great party weekend with family and friends for the day after too! John and his staff were also so amazing that they felt like part of the family by the end of it all!

Sophie & Paul on why they chose  Village at Lyons

“We chose the Village at Lyons because we both wanted somewhere that had charm but that wasn’t a standard wedding venue. We wanted an intimate wedding and reception but we also wanted somewhere that our guests would be comfortable.”

Nicola & Niall on why they chose Hotel Doolin

“We went for Hotel Doolin because of their different wedding packages – not the same old thing… function room and basic menu etc. They had a fabulous array of wedding packages that suited our personality. When we went there and tasted the food as well as met the staff – let’s just say it was a done deal immediately!”
